And maybe one reason I don’t mind the gargoyles is because I was a kid w...

Re: Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Live-Action)

Excellent oral history. Re: Wilhelm Scream in Studio Ghibli movies?

Though the scream has become an "in-joke" for movie fans, it's also so commonly used that since the films called for a scream, that was what they went for. Also can't speak for how Miyazaki himself feels it, but in Japan, American pop culture remains extremely popular. So some Japanese moviegoers ma...

Re: Space Jam 2

Pretty sure it airs tomorrow, Dan. As a Father's Day thing. :)

I'm sure I'll enjoy this...even if it is a thinly disguised commercial to get younger audiences who weren't around in 1996 excited for the sequel.

Apparently, Laverne is named after one of the Andrews sisters—though why they went with that I’m not sure!

At the end of the day, that’s what happens when you’re animation studio is often mistaken for toothpaste.

Seriously, though, it is too bad. Rich was extremely gracious and friendly when I got the chance to talk to him.
