Re: Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Live-Action)

Cool that Disney seems confident in West Side Story, which I remain excited about primarily because the original is one of my favorite movies of all time, and Spielberg seems extremely passionate about it.

Re: Demon Slayer The Movie Hit At Overseas Box Office!

We still have DVD stores. Rental stores? Not unless you count Redbox.

And maybe one reason I don’t mind the gargoyles is because I was a kid w...

Re: Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Live-Action)

Excellent oral history. Interesting how Schneider is pretty vocal on hating the film, though: https://www.slashfilm.com/hunchback-of-notre-dame-oral-history/ I will still defend the gargoyles, who I think are required for the reason of giving Quasimodo someone to talk to alone. And you can hardly fa...

Re: Jurassic World

It actually seems it’s become very easy to find. YouTube already has several uploads, so I’m assuming some guy who worked at a movie theater got access to it early and couldn’t stop themselves from whipping out the old cell phone.

Re: Wilhelm Scream in Studio Ghibli movies?

Though the scream has become an "in-joke" for movie fans, it's also so commonly used that since the films called for a scream, that was what they went for. Also can't speak for how Miyazaki himself feels it, but in Japan, American pop culture remains extremely popular. So some Japanese moviegoers ma...

Re: Space Jam 2

Pretty sure it airs tomorrow, Dan. As a Father's Day thing. :)

I'm sure I'll enjoy this...even if it is a thinly disguised commercial to get younger audiences who weren't around in 1996 excited for the sequel.

Apparently, Laverne is named after one of the Andrews sisters—though why they went with that I’m not sure!
