If you look at the history of this man's actions, (and I mean really dig deep) with Ron Miller, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Michael Ovitz, Michael Eisner AND Bob Iger, you'll see he has a very passive-aggressive streak. He'll hang back in the shadows for a while, but when he gets mad, he's not to be messed...

I watched it last night and really liked it. I was tempted to choose "excellent," but there's the inevitable comparison to the first Tarzan . We actually watched Tarzan up to the "Son of Man" song, and then switched over to Tarzan II . The animation was a short notch below feature animation quality....

LW&W was actually the second book in the series, and a shame they are going with "the well known one" to kickstart their franchise. No, LW&W was originally the first book in the series. They were recently renumbered (so that the "Chronicles" in the title would be accurate). The "new" first book, Th...

I agree with you that it would be nice if the sequels received more original titles. I agree, too. If you can't even think up an original title, what does that say about the amount of thought that went into an original story? If the only title you can come up with is to add a number to the original...

They could always have invited him back to do a commentary or something... Do you really think that any studio would invite an executive from a competing studio to be involved with a DVD project? And for that matter, would any executive go back to the studio he was fired from to help create promoti...

Pocahontas II is good. (I have a friend that likes it better than the original.) Like all the early direct-to-video sequels, the animation isn't as good as the original, but it's better than the average sequel. Hunchback II is bad. The story is so-so and the animation is cheap. Don't bother with th...

I've heard that talked about all over, but haven't seen an official source that has said it. Where did you hear it, George?

Shan-Yu was a real diappointment. Maybe they were afraid of making him "too evil" and thus be accused of racism or something. But he was already so flat, and he didn't even have a celebrity voice! (Jim Cummings played him, of course). Sorry, Shan-Yu was not voiced by Jim Cummings. Miguel Ferrer did...

Commercials on Disney Channel: yeah, that bugs me, too. I think the reason they do that is to make it hard for people to tape on their VCR. They have to either accept having commercials, sit through it with the remote and hit pause every fifteen minutes, or (Disney's first choice) just give up and g...

This is just a theory, but it would be very embarrassing if Valiant did better than Chicken Little. Maybe they know it will do well, but don't really want it to.

Let me say that, while I enjoyed Home on the Range , Treasure Planet , and Atlantis I don't think that they stand up in comparison to earlier animated features, especially in the area of story. If its OK to denigrate "cheapquels" because "the stories are crap" even though the art is improving, why n...
