Re: The new Jungle Book

The Favreau Jungle Book is by far, the best film version of Jungle Book ever made (and it's been made over a half dozen times). I wish they'd left the Bare Necessities song out, but the re-use of the score themes and the King Louis song was very well done. The Disney cartoon has some fun animation, ...

Re: The Good Dinosaur

I thought the film was a mild in general It seemed to work on only one level and is the first Pixar cartoon since Cars 2 to be aimed mostly at young children. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I expect more from Pixar. The film is really derivative - a remake of The Lion King by way of The Bear (inclu...

Re: Popeye Movie First look at CG Popeye

No---sorry, but Sandler and Smigel were in complete control. Either way, the new film is dreadful---humorless and without good storytelling or strong character. A bunch of zippy, hard to read unfunny gags in search of structure. Of course, story has never been tartakovsky's strong point.

Re: Inside Out

"Pixar has repeatedly said the writers on the staff were impressed and would have used that script if they could " Again, there is ZERO proof anyone from Pixar ever said this. And as the other commenter said, Pixar could have used anything they wanted once Disney owned them. Writers are, by nature, ...

"Circle 7 script that Pixar wanted to use for their Monsters Inc. sequel but couldn't."

There is no proof of that from anywhere.

Re: Incredibles 2

Of Course Brad Bird will direct Incredibles 2. Pixar doesn't have anyone else who could direct it. None of the caliber of Brad Bird.

What a dull movie rango was! I was surprised at how ugly and unappealing the whole cartoon looked. Any hopes of this being a more "adult" or mature cartoon are quickly undermined by how immature and juvenile the "writing" was. The animation is fairy weak, although the textures are quite nice (althou...

Looks like Tron did less business this weekend than Tangled did in it's opening Fri-to Monday weekend (not counting it's Wed. & Thurs. Sneak Previews). And both cost well over $250 million to make (not including marketing and the multiple formats). Tangled opened in more theaters, but fewer screens ...

Leslie Iwerks

"Ub Iwerks’ daughter, Leslie, wrote a book and directed a feature-length documentary on her father,"

No. Leslie is Ubbe Iwerks' GRANDdaughter.

FYI.

Like who? Sanders quit in a whiney huff because he was a spoiled brat and wasn't getting his way. He couldn't direct a film by himself. Dean Dublois is the real story guy that gave form to lots of Sanders bizarre ideas.

Sanders didn't get a pink slip. He QUIT Disney. He wasn't "fired."
That's simply a fact (and a public one at that).
