Re: The Twilight Zone

And when they don't speed up, they get creative and trim a scene. One example that comes to mind is "The Howling Man". At the end when the devil would walk behind the pillars to gradually reveal his true self, that all now happens in the span of one pillar. Sloppy and pointless! Takes away from the...

Re: Banana Splits five nights Movie Trailer!

Here's the thing about The Banana Split Show: it was terrible. The theme song was a classic. But the show itself was a nightmare. It's horrible, but the painfully-unfunny suit characters were only wraparound segments for Jonny Quest-era ADVENTURE! cartoons ( Arabian Knights , Three Musketeers) whic...

Re: Mighty mouse live action film & Spice girls animated film in the works!

A new take on MM has been coming for years. I just hope they do it right and not as some meta/ironic/post modernist, knowing spoof, which is becoming stale thesedays. The live-action and animation combination could either be the make or break of it... I have the feeling that it's going to be more i...

EricJ, do you ever look forward to movies and think they offer something new?
You do know you're asking that about a sequel, right?

Re: Disney's Frozen

Well, at least by making it another Disney "road-trip" sequel, it looks like much less of the Wicked/Mormon Broadway-Fangrrl movie the first one was-- That's what happens after they got too many writers enamored with "Oo, Elsa and her POWERZZZ!", and not so much with whether Elfaba was going to play...

Re: The Twilight Zone

Because of the new reboot, SyFy aired an all day marathon this past Saturday! It was nice surprise. They gave the usual common ones like the Hitchhiker, It's Good Life etc. I just wish the quality on SyFy was better. It totally feels like the eppys are sped up which makes them feel fake. Very distr...

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

I have been enjoying the recovered and newly animated episodes. Nice to see more coming out soon, too. Which others are coming out? I saw "Power of the Daleks" in its Fathom run a year or two ago, and it wasn't too bad--It's all about restoration, not animation quality, and more Troughton in the re...

Re: The Lion King Remake

That last bit with Timon and Pumbaa; Timon comes off uhh.. a little fruity. Especially with his paw raised up at first. Not to say that's inherently bad, it just doesn't *feel* like Timon. Well, that's just it: The gay community latched onto Timon & Pumbaa because the Southern Baptists did, because...

I loved the Pegacorn-raccoons! This looks so great, count me in!
Which brings up the question--If Pega-racorns are pests, why would anyone paint them on the side of their van?
Or maybe that's just more of the Chris Pratt character's delusion of "cool" fantasy?

Re: Disney Pixar's Onward

If you don't follow the AV Facebook that's probably why. ;) I don't, I saw it on Twitter...Ahem, two days EARLY : https://twitter.com/AnimatedViews/status/1112191133143183366 (Which, since it wasn't 4/1, I thought, "What? Sounds cute, they could do it! :) " If only the "Disney - Pixar" fake logo ha...

Re: Disney Pixar's Onward

See, that was the problem with that "Heaven" April-Fool's joke:
It didn't sound so bad either, knowing that Pixar could find original gags in just about any premise, and make it look audience-appealing (at least in their independently-generated non-sequels).

Re: Cinderella: Platinum Edition Discussion

Thanks for sharing the various covers. My favorite would probably have to be the Target edition, very beautiful! It is very nice--I should know, I bought it back in 2012. They also had Target-exclusive books for Peter Pan, Aladdin, and Little Mermaid, but I'd already bought the 3D version of the la...

The sequel now has a title, Minions: The Rise of Gru. I like it!
Since DM3 tanked, I'm guessing Illuminations is putting its affairs in order and doing the penultimate "Origin prequel" entry, following on the "Before Gru" plot from the first Minions.
The finale movie should be interesting.

Re: Disney's Aladdin (Live-Action)

A funny article from The Hollywood Reporter floating around the ridiculous, or maybe not so ridiculous, notion of a shared universe between the live-action films. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/aladdin-will-disney-make-a-live-action-frozen-1213619 \ So far, only Alice’s sequel, Alice...

Thanks Danny! did you already know Mcdonalds is going to have the toys? Although Happy Meals versions of Toy Story toys have been known to cause a bit of confusion:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPZ5BZQeZD4 Oh hey, Electric Light Orchestra! :D Too bad it wasn't one of their Xanadu songs...(...
