Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

In fact, I'm questioning a few of my recent disc purchases. Why did I buy George of the Jungle (another DMC exclusive) recently? It's all on D+ anyhow! This is... EXACTLY ...verbatim......what everyone said about Netflix from '10-'11: "I'm throwing out my disc collection, now that Netflix has it al...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I’m talking about the ordering on D+, nothing to do with the DVDs. Yeah, so am I - Despite the abolition of the Vault, title availability seems to be tied to Club vs. Retail availability, and showing the Disney Afternoon series is more a matter of showing "Famous retail titles" (ie. the mainstream ...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

To keep it short: Carroll saw Wonderland as truly “wondrous” as Alice develops mentally and emotionally from a child into a mature pre-adolescent who will most likely take the wisdom and courage she acquired in her dreamworld through her journey into adulthood and beyond. OTOH, it's one of the few-...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Several TV series sequels are there, including those for The Little Mermaid, Hercules, New Groove, and Timon & Pumbaa. No Aladdin The Series yet. Several Disney Afternoon shows are there, including Gummi Bears and Goof Troop and Bonkers (no original DuckTales yet). https://www.disneyplus.com/series...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Real quick, I noticed that for some TV shows, like the current DuckTales series, the episodes appear to be listed out of order, so that's something to keep an eye out for. Ie., the random "Best-of" collections that came out on VHS in the 80's, and not the complete broadcast-order DVD boxsets of the...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

I was impressed with Ariel's swimming effects - so much more impressive than any flying effects in the Aladdin stage show that I saw in London When they announced a Little Mermaid musical on Broadway (the infamous "Heelie" one), I first wondered whether they had upgraded the Tokyo Disney Seas theme...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

So Netflix will become Amazon Prime, in other words, but without the delivery options. Talk about your own success coming back to bite you... No, Amazon will try competing directly with HBOM, just like they've been competing with HBO, period. Netflix will just become MORE international imports, tru...

Re: Soul

I believe it was a commercial of Teen Titans Go featuring Beast Boy. That's what first came to mind. I'm also reminded of a few dances Stewie has done on Family Guy . Not much really, guess it just feels like more what with that Drake car dancing trend and Fortnite. Either that, or a Gangnam Style ...

Re: Soul

Tina Fey's character, 22, looks cute. Feels a little uninspired at the moment. That whole "cowboy dance" bit I feel like I've seen a dozen times. Not really funny. Not only had I felt like I'd seen it, I felt like I knew who I'd seen it with: Tina Fey being one of the new 00's-10's female comics wh...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Tokyo Disneyland commercial: Beautiful. Really pulls on those heartstrings! Love the anime style. Nobody does it like Tokyo Disney! Yes, but what would anime BE without the girly-shoujo episodes set at theme parks that only faintly/legally resemble Tokyo Disneyland? The one from "Robot Carnival" (w...

Re: Disney's Frozen

Pre ticket sales have broke records. https://deadline.com/2019/11/frozen-2-ticket-presales-record-animated-film-fandango-atom-tickets-1202778405/ I don't know why industry articles think that's a GOOD thing... It keeps sounding like the time Disney's flop Broadway musicals of Tarzan and Little Merm...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

Recent industry-geek rumor press has it that the most expensive budget Disney laid out, at $25M per ep., wasn't for Lady's remake, but for Hawkeye: the Series (arguably the one Phase IV MCU streaming series NO one's looking forward to), with Falcon (ditto) not far behind at $15M per. And that's leav...

Ant-man 3! https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/ant-man-3-peyton-reed-returning-direct-1251732 I suspect Kevin thinks he's on a roll after the upcoming "Lady Thor" movie, and now he wants to use the third Ant-Man to transition to teen-daughter Cassie (from Endgame) as Stature. Yes, ANOTHER...

Re: Criterion Collection

Japanese version of King Kong vs. Godzilla. Note this has with non-removable English subs for the Japanese dialogue and burned-in Japanese subtitles (laserdisc right side style) for the English dialogue If true, that sounds pretty awful. Not sure if it is. (Just got the set, and started digging in ...
