Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

And that's before it even "officially" launches... Safe to assume more will likely be added. Good selection. Love "The Wise Little Hen", and "Chef Donald" is a riot! "Pluto's Christmas Tree" is a classic and a must watch during the holiday. Safe, but not guaranteed. The fact that "Three Little Pigs...

That was this summer. ;)
If it's after Labor Day, Memorial Day is "Last summer". Okay, "Last May", it wasn't Memorial yet.

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

Also, weren't the 60's Jetsons/Jonny Quest (and hopefully Flintstones, if they ever get around to it  ) produced on film stock before airing? Blu-ray is still working out the bugs on remastering video source, and hasn't gotten it quite right yet, but early film-sourced series are the first ...

Re: John Carter of Mars

Even Cutthroat Island, as cheesy and often misguided as it was, is more entertaining than most huge hits. I mean, look how bad Lion King looks compared to what it’s hauled in. I've seen Cutthroat Island, and it was a mess. Here's where we get the "Flop vs. Disappointment" ethic at work. It ...

Re: John Carter of Mars

Exactly. What is the definition of "bomb" anyhow? Please do not answer that. It was rhetorical. I'll answer it anyway: There's an overlooked debate about how a "Bomb" or a "Flop" differs from a "Box-office disappointment"-- Short answer, a "Disappointment" disappoints you because it had enough basi...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

Check out the restoration on Jetsons: Yes, imagine the future, when we'd have 3D-TV? (And then everyone would claim it was a "conspiracy" by "greedy studios" because they'd just bought a new set two years earlier, gamers would think it was a waste of time because they're weren't any games for...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

"You must face Sidious as I faced Vader!" So, we're basically forgetting that she already faced Snoke as Luke faced Sidious? (And...pretty much EXACTLY like Luke faced Sidious?) Good--Then that means that we essentially are forgetting everything that happened in Last Jedi. All's as it should be. :)

Re: Disney Movie Rewards

I miss the exclusives, the one of a kind trinkets. "Free" DVDs and Blu's are all well and good, I would rather spend my hard earned points on something that not everyone can get. That's what pushed me into signing up! Those free coins were sweet, as was the stuff I got afterwards. I miss the exclus...

Re: Charlie Brown Specials

And unfortunately, Warner's script says that the "Decade" Complete 60's and 70's DVD collections of the non-holiday specials "flopped", so we'll never see those on Blu-ray in our lifetime. Even just to break up the variety. Not that we've learned to expect Warner retail physical-disk releases WITHOU...

Re: Disney's Cruella (Live-Action)

Hmm.. so a redhead before she goes full on Cruella. Interesting. Think she looks great. Now to wonder how and why the hair color change. A simple dye job or maybe some type of electric accident...? Well, just like the Joker had to be poor, struggling lil' "Arnold Fleck" before his new socially-expr...

Re: The Lion King Remake

Also, that’s ridiculous about the Beauty reference!! In the ‘94 version they were able to get away with Zazu singing “It’s a Small World” because it was such a general referral to Disney culture but referencing story elements from a specific (and relatively recent) animated film??? That’s nuts! :sh...

Re: France sets rule?: Movies must be three years old to go on streaming sites!

As for streaming vs dvd I do both myself. Most blu-rays come with digital copies and vudu has the $2 disk to digital program. See, THIS is what I was talking about. (Pay attention, Dacey, and you won't have to wryly twist your mouth slantways like a Studio Ghibli villain): Streaming is not the titl...

Re: France sets rule?: Movies must be three years old to go on streaming sites!

To protect video stores and movie chains no movie will be on any streaming site for three years! Well, that's pretty much what we HAD for years, starting out, except for the Disney hits that would show up on Starz' half of Netflix. Now we have Disney (and SW and Marvel) hits that show up on Disney'...

Re: Disney's Frozen

Yep, there was no need to make him evil just to make Anna's decision easier. If anything, Hans being genuine would've been more interesting and led to a stronger message. According to legend, the original Frozen 1 storyboard had Elsa as the "villain", whose self-pitying stubbornness was freezing th...
