Re: Pixar's Luca

Oh, I wouldn’t call it pretentiousness, but perhaps an ambitiousness. I don’t think they set out to preach, but they do push themselves and set out to reach. Still, it’s nice every now and then just to have some simple fun, like A Bug's Life, The Good Dinosaur or even Brave. Well, A Bug's Life, any...

Re: Disney's Frozen

How do you know any of this? Those female characters all exist in separate stories/universes. Isn’t just possible that they’re all unique characters too? If you're saying Raya is "different" from Moana, that's a fairly relative term. They seem to be the same character, with ethnic backstories swapp...

Unless in the preview they specifically state that the first bug preserved in amber is the one found in that mining scene. Which would be dumb…
They've DONE dumber.

In fact, that brand of Dumb is even more common today, in the age of Desperate 80's-90's Movie Iconography.

Re: Disney's Frozen

It's something that I've been thinking about but to me it seems that since RBTI we've entered a new era for Disney animation, and not a good one, I'll give Encanto a chance since Byron Howard has proven he can make competent films and I hope it won't be disappointing. I would have named Moana as th...

A bug. There were lots of them.
No, no: It's THE bug, from the Famous Iconic Scene early on in the first movie. Otherwise, what's the point?

Re: Jurassic World

Yep, no franchise is officially over and considered finale-ready until "B-but...we have to do the ORIGIN!!"

(And because we saw the park built in the first movie, that means now we have to see how the bug got in the amber.)

Re: Disney's Frozen

Stephen Schwartz wrote the songs for Wicked. The songs for Frozen were co-written by the guy who co-wrote the songs for The Book of Mormon and Avenue Q And can someone explain which moderator who doesn't live in NYC decided it was more forum-PC to change "Broadway fangirls" into "Fans"? NO: There a...

Re: Disney's Frozen

I remember walking out of the original Frozen thinking 'Finally a return to a true musical' and telling everybody to see it. Even if on reflection I don't think the movie has really held up that well as a musical compared to something like Beauty & The Beast (i.e. remove the songs and the plot stil...

Well, I know you want to just let the "toothpaste" joke drop, but don't sound so crestfallen.

Re: Enchanted

And bringing Princess Tiana "back" still doesn’t make sense. How can you bring Princess Tiana "back" when she eve er existed before? I’m trying to keep up but then you do talk such bollocks! (Bringing...princesses...back...WITH Tiana. There. I now rule that this horse's cause of death was due to re...

Re: Enchanted

The animation about how she got there? Sure had. Nothing wrong with that. It's just the live-action script afterwards that needed a little......... retheming once they got to production in the redraft/reshoots. (And hey: Nothing wrong with liking the film we got. Just don't raise any banners or pay ...

Yes, via bringing John Musker & Ron Clements back out of "exile", and granting full-pardon status, just to prove the point. Do try to keep up.

Re: Enchanted

Animated Views. Fact-checking Eric Janssen's posts since 2007! ;) And I was reading Jim Hill's Disney history site since 2005: The Enchanted we got was very, very, very, VERY much not the one from the first script treatments, from the days when Michael Eisner was bending over backwards to the Shrek...

Re: Enchanted

So based on those photos. I'm gonna going out on a limb and say the story will involve around people from Andalasia (that's the animated world right?) crossing over into our world and causing chaos. Yep, we were already a long way from the Eisner-era "Punish stupid princesses, and make them marry a...

So, Disney doesn't have a lock on animated Pooh anymore? Or did it expire after the '11 movie?
