Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

You are correct Eric, the Matildas are the national women's football (soccer team) for Australia. The name is a reference to the song Waltzing Matilda and not Roald Dahl's book. Before 1995, they were known as the Female Socceroos.

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

Flounder is the perfect example of why sometimes adapting an animated character to 'real life' just doesn't work. Having said that, the new clip has boosted my interest although I'm still wary of what they decide to do with Kiss The Girl and the extra 30 minutes of story. Hopefully, this will be mor...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

It kinda nullifies the 'It's set in the Caribbean' argument people were making about Ariel. I'd like to say I'm gonna avoid this movie but I'm not. I'm watch it for the songs cause of a Menken loyalist. I'll get annoyed at the new songs sounding like every other song Miranda has contributed lyrics t...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

That's almost an extra hour of stuff. The movie is definitely not aimed at the children's market that's for sure with that runtime. And you just know the final battle is going to be 30 minutes long.

Re: Hallmark Ornaments

Just saw there is a Treasure Planet one available in the sketchbook/legacy series. Will have to try and grab one as that's another missing piece to my collection.

Re: Hallmark Ornaments

I'm still waiting for a Black Cauldron ornament to be released. One day Disney will acknowledge its existence for a Christmas tree.

Re: Titanic

This argument has also perplexed. When I first watched the movie way back in the Summer of '98 (Australian time) in the theatre I thought it was obvious why Jack couldn't be on the door. It had nothing to do with space, but elementary physics. It was all about not tipping the door over trying to get...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

Apart from Andor Season 2 - the news of a Rey film is the only thing on the Stars Wars horizon that I would be interested in watching.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I've just realised that I haven't tuned into Disney+ since January when I watched Wakanda Forever. Nothing new that has dropped has enticed me - I even gave up on National Treasure. May check out the new Journey to the Earth series to confirm that the show isn't' designed for adults. Disney really n...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

My issue with the lyric changes is that it is clear the decision was made by just reading the lyrics as written on a surface level instead of looking at in context of the song/story. The women don't talk section in Ursula's song is a combination of manipulating Ariel and putting down human males. Ur...

Finally, all those fans who complained about the plot involving Hermoine freeing house elves can stop SPEWing.

I know the perspective is a little off in #9 with him being a little more forward, but dang the height difference! It's amazing that anyone approved that shot to go out. Because as you said, the perspective makes it took like Eric is taking his child out for a walk. Surely there is another shot fro...

Re: Barbie live action film

The movie is definitely set in a play world that's for sure. But after the first brilliant teaser, this one has undone a lot of the good will from the first one. And has made me less enthusasitic. The humour shown in the trailer reeks of the writing team thinking they are more hilarious than they ac...

Re: What scenes from animated films left an impression on you?

The ones that spring to mind for me without having to think about them are: Belle saying 'I love you' to the dying Beast from Beauty and the Beast The wildebeest stampede from The Lion King The 'I See The Light' number from Tangled Pocahontas running up the hill to farewell John Smith from Pocahonta...
