Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
At the moment it hasn't happened in Australia with my quick search. And if this is the path Disney plans on going for the public to watch their products at home, then they really should not be removing titles from Disney+

Re: Oscar Chat 2024
From what I understand, there have been some animated films that have been submitted for Best International Feature that were ineligible for Best Animated Feature because they had not been shown in a cinema in the US during the eligibility period. From what I can gather, International Feature submis...

Re: 96th Oscar Nominations
Finally, I can stop pondering during movies opening credits, why it's only the casting agents that don't get recognized out of all the areas that are deemed worthy enough to be placed on a movie's opening credits at the Oscars. I am looking forward to my first good night sleep in decades.

Re: 96th Oscar Nominations
My main issue with Spideyverse 2 is the lack of closure to the movie's story. I have a similar issue with Deathly Hallows Part 1 and to a lesser extent Infinity War. They all feel like a 2 hour long teaser for the actual movie that isn't/wasn't released yet. But yet the Middle Earth movies never mad...

Re: 96th Oscar Nominations
I am so excited that Nimona got nominated. It's my favourite animated feature of 2023. I thought I had done all my homework with the Animated Feature category but then the Academy had to go and nominate Robert Dreams. I do like how the Animation Branch takes their voting seriously though and refuse ...

Re: Disney's Wish
I'm actually prepared to re-watch Wish, something I have no desire to do with Frozen II

Re: Pocahontas
If you want the BluRay for the quality I say buy it. Can never have too many copies of a movie.

Re: Pocahontas
I like watching the complete version. If I Never Knew You is an incredible song and adds extra death to the romance and the lead up to the finale - you would think by the 4th movie Katzenberg would trust Menken and ignore the test results. For someone who wanted an Oscar worthy adult film, it seemed...

Re: Disney's Wish
They do not reference Rescuers Down Under in the credits either. To their credit Frozen and Ralph don't get their sequel mentioned but Fantasia does which then makes it odd that Frozen and Ralph don't get their sequels shown. I honestly feel part of the issue I have with this film celebrating 100 ye...

Re: Disney's Wish
Klaus is a hand drawn animated film. Wow! For some reason I thought it was CGI with 'blending'. I will keep my error in the original post for others to shake their head at me. But I still stand by the fact that what Disney did was truly a bad decision. They should have picked one and not tried a 'b...

Re: Disney's Wish
I saw it just before Christmas and by the end of the movie I was feeling very 'meh' about and then the credits made me angry. In terms of the story, it was hard to empathise with Asha's quest because the King really wasn't being evil with not granting everybody's wishes immediately. I mean technical...

Re: Manga & Anime THREAD
Went to the cinema yesterday to watch The Boy and the Heron. First Studio Ghibli film watched in the cinema. Honestly surprised my rural cinema had it in the first weekend of release - in both dub and sub versions. So wanted to see it opening first weekend, to show them there is an audience for thes...

Re: Disney's Wish
I call this the Let It Go effect. Even though Frozen had songs written by people who cut their teeth on Broadway shows and written for a musical film, the unexpected success of the movie version of Let It Go (and the other songs) on the Billboard Charts made Disney sit up and realise they've not onl...
