Re: The Simpsons

I really wish they had stopped at 30 years. It's a nice round number! ;) And the Fox/Disney transition was just the perfect opportunity to announce they were done. Not saying things won't be good under Disney. But it would have just been a good reason to move on and let Disney take care of the legac...

Re: New AV Countdown app for smart phones

While it took a lot longer than we would have liked, the AV Countdown app is back up and running! Carry our calendar in your pocket with AV Countdown. Tap one of the movie posters and you’ll get a full screen countdown for that film. Pick your favorite and every time you launch the app you’ll start ...

For those outside the USA, this might have been released in your region as Arctic Justice.

Re: Forum registration temporarily disabled

We have Recaptcha enabled (the "I am not a robot" thing). We also have a system that checks new usernames against a database before allowing registration. So not sure how they got through today. I've also made sure email verification is now on. I can't remember if it was before. Anyway, registration...

Forum registration temporarily disabled :UPDATE: registration reopened!

I've temporarily disabled forum registration for new members. We had a huge wave of spambots this morning and that was the only way I could stem the tide! I'll reenable it this evening.

Re: AV Countdown app for mobile phones

Somewhere in the browser is a menu or settings button (might look like three dots or lines). While on the countdown webpage, click that button. There should be an option called "Add to Home Screen". Choose that! Just so it's clear, the app does work in the browser. It's completely functional that wa...

Re: AV Countdown app for mobile phones

Update to my last post: were you maybe viewing the app via your web browser rather than installing it and viewing it as a standalone app? The browser “chrome” (buttons, location bar, options, etc) make it where you can’t see the entire app at once which would account for the cropping you noticed. It...

Re: AV Countdown app for mobile phones

Thanks! Can I ask what model phone you have? The countdown pages stretch to fit the width of any device, which means the height will be cut off at different points on different devices depending on screen resolutions. So I tried to pick an image size that wouldn't cut off anything important even on ...

Re: AV Countdown app for mobile phones

Yep, it's an app designed exclusively for phone-sized devices so I've disabled access to other devices. But now that I've locked in what assets the app uses i can get to work on the calendar web page for other computers, since it will use the same images and film data.

New AV Countdown app for smart phones

It took a lot longer than I would have liked, but I've basically finished the AV Countdown app rewrite! I'm not ready to officially announce it though. I'd like some other people to beta test it for me on different devices. Try it out and let me know what you think and any issues you find. (I'm espe...

Re: Disney's Aladdin (Live-Action)

Saw this yesterday. I've said before I'm not a fan of this idea of redoing the animated films. And this did not change that view. Scenes taken from the original film weren't terrible. Most of the new stuff was! Singers not great (that includes Smith). Arrangements really bad. New song jarringly out ...

Digital copy codes

I just bought Iron Man 3 and I already have a digital copy of the film so I don't need the one that came with this disc. This version came out in 2013 so it's possible the code has expired but if anyone wants it feel free to give it a try! WSU1J9U7RJ7 Try here first: https://moviesanywhere.com/ If t...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Hey, I was in Guys and Dolls too!

Ugh, the Matthew Broderick Music Man? So badly miscast. Me and my son were recently talking about that show and I came up with the idea that maybe getting someone like Will Smith to play Harold Hill might work, since the original was basically light-rapping anyway.

Re: YouTube Goodness

I was a dancer way back when. One of the shows I was in was a production of The Music Man and it was the most fun yet challenging choreography I ever did! The Family Guy version had me laughing at how much of it they actually did, and impressed by how accurate it was!
