Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Oh noes! Disney is releasing movies on demand! What is this new service? You rent movies and then don’t get to watch them again? That’s outrageous!!! What’s that? Movies on demand have been around for decades you say? You didn’t get to watch them after your rental window ended before either? This is...

Re: WB looking to sell crouncyroll!

Looks like big changes for DC too. https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/dc-comics-dc-universe-layoffs-fallout ...Simply put, “WarnerMedia doesn’t want to be in the comics business. It wants to be in the character business,” another source with knowledge of Warner Bros. operations tells me. That same source...

Re: WB looking to sell crouncyroll!

Shocked that WB isn’t holding onto this as content for HBOMax.

Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)

Yea, I still don’t see how this is any different from the recent Scoob and Trolls releases. And those you lost them 48 hours after paying for them.

Re: Disney Movie Rewards

Someone at the movie club has a sense of humor or just doesn’t remember the kerfuffle between these films. I guess Disney won that feud in the end!

Re: Trolls World Tour -- Review

Normally I laugh off people who say things like this about toys. But while I don’t think there’s any chance this will groom children for pedophiles, someone really should have said something before this left the drawing board!

Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)

Covid has made lose-lose propositions the norm. The price isn’t that inflated considering it’s about the price of two theatre tickets. Recouping something now is better than nothing considering how much money Disney is losing across all their businesses (not only are theatres closed, but the parks w...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Everyone paying for D+ knew exactly what they were paying for: tv shows, direct-to-video quality original movies, old movies, and new movies months after their release. Everyone is still getting that today. If Covid hadn’t happened, and Mulan was about to open in theatres, and Disney announced, “we’...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

...But I think another issue is that Netflix doesn’t have VOD content, and while it makes sense for Disney to want to make their money big, it still feels a tad overpriced for something Disney always advertised was going to remain affordable. Disney also planned on not releasing films like Mulan on...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

It isn't that it's vod but that it's coming onto a netflix like service. It's what i said to start with. No one wants paid "dlc" on a netflix like app you are having to pay to get to start with. The campea video i posted had him say others have said the same thing to him. His poll again had 89% say...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I really don’t get the issue here. If Disney released Mulan as a vod title like Scoob or Trolls for anyone to pay and watch, no one would care. Because they’re limiting it vod to D+ members (and letting them watch it as much as they want during the vod window) that’s somehow a bad deal for D+ member...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

This isn’t Disney making a movie for D+ and then asking subscribers to pay extra if they want to see it. This is a tentpole movie that got caught up in a once-in-a-lifetime act of god. Also Mulan will go to those other services for sale eventually too. We’re only talking about the premium vod releas...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

More info: according to this article it’s not a normal rental. Instead of only having 48 hours to watch it, you can watch it as much as you want after paying with no time limit.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Thanks for the tip. I’ve posted it to the site. I actually don’t have a problem with this going premium vod via D+. Instead of releasing it on iTunes and comcast and google and fandango and etc... they release it themselves and keep all the profits. And D+ gets a new selling point when films start g...
