Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Good news on those vaccines so far! Cases of COVID-19 are extremely rare among people who are fully vaccinated, according to a new data analysis by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Among more than 75 million fully vaccinated people in the US, just around 5,800 people reported a “break...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Yesterday was my official two-weeks-after-the-second-shot day when the vaccine is supposed to be at full efficacy. So I did something I have not done is LITERALLY a year -- went out to eat in a restaurant! It was both very weird and completely normal at the same time! My son got his second shot yest...

Re: Oscar Contest 2021

Fixed! EDIT: Just a heads up that since the number of categories has changed this year for the first time since we've been running this contest, I've changed how the game is scored. For example, instead of 21 out of 22 being the record for most correct picks, the record is now 95.5% correct picks. T...

Re: Oscar Contest 2021

Thanks for the heads up guys. The categories are now in the "right" order. This didn't effect anything, it's jut my preference. And the Best Picture nominees are now correct. There was a misspelling in my database of nominees, so when the code couldn't find a movie by that name it defaulted to the f...

Re: Oscar Contest 2021

Ugh. Error with the number of best pic noms and the list isn’t in the order I usually put it in. I’ve temporarily closed voting and will fix in the morning.

Re: Oscar Contest 2021

Let me know of any issues. For the first time in decades, the Academy changed the number of categories and I had to rewrite a lot of code to account for it!

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Got my second jab today! My son had his first last week and my daughter is getting the one dose version next week. The wife got hers back in January, so that will be all of us done soon! The city I live in is already at 30% of the population having had at least one dose of vaccine, which is really g...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Interesting article in the NYT this week about how the US and UK are in much better positions than the EU when it comes to the vaccine due to the more aggressive moves they made last year helping companies working on them. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/20/world/europe/europe-vaccine-rollout-astraz...

Re: Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon

Note the above HT video is FULL of spoilers!! And...it’s not so much the usual HT treatment as just a plot-picking exercise, and a pretty unfunny one at that. Whatever they say about the elements, Raya just *works* as a slice of entertainment. I’ve been thinking about this more and more today, and ...

Re: Live action Tom and Jerry Movie

Watched it the day it came out but with Raya and Spongebob out around that time too, I forgot all about this! I guess that's a pretty damning indictment there! Agree with most everything -- especially the music, and except for Chloe Grace Moretz. I thought she was charming in it and totally threw he...
