October 21, 2015 in Back to the Future... and now April 6, 2021 in Tiny Toons. The future has arrived.

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)
Got my second jab today! My son had his first last week and my daughter is getting the one dose version next week. The wife got hers back in January, so that will be all of us done soon! The city I live in is already at 30% of the population having had at least one dose of vaccine, which is really g...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)
Interesting article in the NYT this week about how the US and UK are in much better positions than the EU when it comes to the vaccine due to the more aggressive moves they made last year helping companies working on them. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/20/world/europe/europe-vaccine-rollout-astraz...

Re: Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon
Note the above HT video is FULL of spoilers!! And...it’s not so much the usual HT treatment as just a plot-picking exercise, and a pretty unfunny one at that. Whatever they say about the elements, Raya just *works* as a slice of entertainment. I’ve been thinking about this more and more today, and ...

Re: Live action Tom and Jerry Movie
Watched it the day it came out but with Raya and Spongebob out around that time too, I forgot all about this! I guess that's a pretty damning indictment there! Agree with most everything -- especially the music, and except for Chloe Grace Moretz. I thought she was charming in it and totally threw he...

Re: MoviePass lowers subscription price - dramatically!
Regal, AMC, and Cinemark all have their own monthly pass service now so not likely a repeat of their old model. I’m betting some kind of movie streaming or rental service, assuming it’s not some sham announcement.

MGM logo
Heard some negative comments about the new MGM logo, due to it being a bit much and taking away focus from Leo. But after seeing it, I really like it. I'm going to link to it rather than embed it since the video here would be lower resolution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLR9-ymUvjE They've also...

Re: Space Jam 2
Even this week when Speedy was getting mentioned as possibly being cancelled, Mexicans on Twitter were up in arms! Sad that the studio would worry about what Hollywood thinks they would be offended by rather than asking them themselves.

Re: Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon
Oh. Like many, my hopes weren’t high (it sounds like now you can see what I meant by the anachronistic dialogue), but when the reviews came in I must admit that my interest grew, again like many, even if I still couldn’t see the "amazing animation" that others were pointing to. Sounds like those "h...

Re: Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon
...As for the modern speech, I know that Disney did it in their previous films as well but they were much more light-hearted and had a much more comedic tone, but with Raya it was just jarring. If they decided to do this serious worldbuilding, then the speech needs to be treated more seriously. Jar...
