Movies like Fantasia and Atlantas were more adult than most but Disney wouldn't tarnish its wholesome image by going too far. They don't want parents screening new films, they want "Disney = take the kids". Its their cash cow. I think the closest you get to adult works by Diseny is when don bluth we...

I like plots that suggest there was an E.T. influance on some of our ancient civilizations and cultures. I went in with low expectations. Ford, Lucus, Speilberg are all well past their prime. I thought the ducking into a refridgerator to survive a nuclear blast was unforgivable and the beginning war...

I hadn't seen it. Don Bluth is one of my favorite animators for sure. I'm gonna check it out.

Wolverine was good. There is nothing I considered new or ground breaking in the film and I don't feel it raised the X men bar so don't go expecting to be blown away but it was entertaining and certainly a great edition to the X-flicks. I felt the cast was one of the best put together for an x-men fl...

Lol, I actually liked 1,2, and 4. Could do without 3. It always amazes me the diversity of likes and dislikes and what people appreciate the most from the stories and I always like to read about it because I feel I gain additional appreciation of different aspects of the movies form other's descript...

If reviewers are liking it then it is likely that the film has mass appeal and might have little to offer long time fans. One of the reasons I like TOS and STTNG is they insert scientific concepts about space and time into the plot. And also challenge very sensitive cultural paradigms. As time goes ...

I loved this movie. It struck me as an instant classic. I think I have room for it in my top 5. Persoanlly I loved the color pallet, and the voice over work was second to none.

What are you talking about? Mononoke has a great dub! If you want to see a bad dub for comparison, watch an episode of the english Shaman King. LOL I guess I was compairing it to movies of its calibre. I know what you mean if you want to get into the extreme bad dubs. But to show what a hypocrite I...

I think I've done both. When it comes to live-action, I always opt for subtitles. When it comes to animation, it's all about what has been mentioned here. I watched Princess Mononoke in its original Japanese, but this was on DVD. When I watched Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle in theaters, I ...

Which version of Akira, FanamI? From what I remember, I thought the original 1986 theatrical English dub was more "authentic" than the later Pioneer DVD edition. Why did they have to change that anyway!? Really I wasn't aware there were variations. I have the collectors ed tin box set that came out...

I find that the best voice over acting is typically done in the language native to where the film was directed and produced. The English dub is typically done very sub par and the actors don't catch the emotion correctly IMO. I always choose the subtitles over dub. There have been a few movies where...
