Re: Godzilla vs. Kong

I'm hoping that the new film will make up for the last two 'zillas. At least the fights look to be in daylight this time. In fact, it looks very promising.

Re: Godzilla vs. Kong

Those last two Godzilla films were horribly dark on disc. I could barely make out what was happening. I would consider buying the new version of Godzilla for that reason, though I did not love the film.

Re: Six Dr. Seuss Books To No Longer Be Printed!

I find all of this discussion fascinating, and have many thoughts, some of which are conflicting. And I don't think I disagree with anyone here, as all make valid points. (Sorry if I repeat myself...) For the record, I would have personally kept the books in print with small modifications for kids, ...

Yeah, I had wondered what she'd make of it. She was likely aware of discussions before her death, depending on her cognitive health.

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

Bill Hunt did have this to say today: Also in announcement news today, the Warner Archive has just revealed a slate of new catalog titles coming to Blu-ray in April... A few of you will no doubt wonder how this is compatible with my comment from last week that a lot of the Warner Archive team was re...

Re: Six Dr. Seuss Books To No Longer Be Printed!

Pics from the books in question: https://nationalpost.com/entertainment/here-are-the-wrong-illustrations-that-got-six-dr-seuss-books-cancelled None are truly horrible, in my opinion (we've all seen worse). And at least a couple are a little mystifying as to why they should be considered racist (part...

Re: Six Dr suess Books Banned!

This article breaks it down more per book: https://www.france24.com/en/live-news/20210302-dr-seuss-pulls-six-books-over-racist-imagery I really have mixed feelings about this, but Droo has it right. Those images would not be published new today. Even reading a couple of those books to my kids a few ...

Re: Rugrats Reboot.

They look pretty spot-on to me. The problem, of course, is that they were never really designed to be 3D. And I always found the Klasky-Csupo designs ugly to start with.

...keeping in mind that to many reviewers, "animation" can also mean background design, color design, etc.

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

Okay, I'm in for Josie, too. Selling my H-B DVDs on eBay has been surprisingly profitable, which makes upgrading worthwhile. And comments online seem to indicate that the HD remasters look great for these, for the most part. Melody is sweet and fun as a cartoon character... but she would drive me cr...

Re: Soul

Geez, I thought Onward totally bungled the ending, more due to how it was presented as opposed to the script. To each his own.

For me, Soul was much more satisfying, though still not among my very favourite Pixar films.

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Eric is making the point that Miles is a different character. With Superman, it's not known if it will be Clark or someone else, like the "Super President," Calvin Ellis, from the comics.

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

So, now there's news of a black Superman being in the next reboot. It's not the first time it's been suggested, but it seems to be more likely now. It's a little bit eye-rolling from the "we're being PC'd to death" standpoint, but if we're losing Henry anyway, then I do like the idea. (I only wish w...
