Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)

Wow, already! I guess it is December now. And I had no problem with waiting for it.

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

Filoni produces Mando, so if Disney didn't care about following up on the cartoons, they picked the wrong guy. 8) Though we got few if any nods to the cartoons in Mando Season One, it now certainly looks like he is getting his wish to follow-up on the threads of his shows, what with the appearances ...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

So... your expectations were heightened by the sequels being sucky? Ah, well that's where you went wrong, I'd say. ;) For me, the polish came off of SW a long time ago, and I never expect to get it back. So, Mando is about as good as I expected. While we'd all love for it to be amazing, I'm happy en...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

Ben's expectations for a Star Wars TV show seem quite different than mine. I enjoy it well enough, and my 13 year old son loves it.

Re: Clifford the Big Red Dog

The shade of red is quite a bit darker than what one sees in the books (or the cartoon). I guess they figured a brighter red would look too ridiculous--- as if that should be a concern once you've made the decision to make a film about a giant dog!

Re: Clifford the Big Red Dog

The lettering behind him is bright red. Clifford is dark red.

Maybe your screen leans purple...? ;)

But seriously, different people perceive colours in different ways. (Just like we spell colors/colours in different ways!)

Re: Pocahontas

Yes, but they'd have to add a lot more story. The original's story is really pretty slight.

It would be a waste of time, though. You can't beat the visuals of the original.

Re: Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon

I actually tend to find myself relating to female characters more than male ones, for whatever reason. And that's often the case for me, too. (I cannot relate at all to the dumb jock, the bully, the frat boy, the womanizer, etc., etc.) Which just goes to show that not every trait can be branded "ma...

No one's saying that NO ONE says that. I'm saying NOT EVERYONE (or every girl) says that. You do tend to generalize. Ya gotta admit.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Aside from enjoying the new Mando again (yes!), I really loved the first episode of 616, showcasing the late 1970s Japanese Spider-Man show! Lots of great interviews, and even touching at times. What a surprise! Give it a watch!

Re: Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon

Anytime the word "all" is used in the context of explaining an entire gender (or any other group of people), well.... that tends to be incorrect. Overgeneralizing does a disservice. I understand - my own brain tries to place individuals into easily-defined boxes at first, but my expectations are con...

Re: Li(ve)lo & Stitch

The problem is that it's hard to find a really good child actor who can deliver the goods. Or, put in the hours required to be a lead, due to filming laws for child actors.
