Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Disney also announced they will begin releasing their workers, but will still keep their benefits going, which is really good of them considering the state of healthcare in the US.

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

That's the challenge right now. I feel guilty for being safe at home, but in reality I am following orders and fighting this the best way.

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

I had to post that video on my Facebook, too, after Ben sent it to me. So many tears. So much laughter. Poignant. And a great summary of the times.

Florida, which is already having temps in the 30s Celsius (80-90F), has racked up 5000 cases. Granted, they also have lots of foolishness going on with crowds at beaches, etc., but I don't think we can count on high temps to neutralize the virus.

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Yeah, while I did the enjoy the silly adventure of The Court Jester, it was the wonderful musicians in A Song is Born, as well as the delightful cast of character actors, that really made it for me. Plus, Kaye's performance there is pleasantly restrained, with nearly none of his usual clowning. Cont...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Last night, I started A Song is Born while on the treadmill. What a great Danny Kaye movie, maybe my favourite of the 4 I watched in the past week or two, on the Criterion Channel. With all those jazz greats (Satchmo, Tommy Dorsey, Benny Goodman...), it was great music to exercise to.

… not to mention well-regarded runs on Hulk and Supergirl comics.

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Making the most of it here. We are vigilant in our self isolating. I have been doing lots of reading, and watched three movies yesterday. Best to just enjoy not working, aside from making some calls. I would rather be seeing people at my office, but that is months away, so for now I will try to enjo...

Quite sensible. It seemed like at least a few weeks too soon to consider such a move.

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Attaboy. It's a little chilly here yet to work too much outside. The snow will be melting today, but it's colder again tomorrow. But my wife has started planting vegetables inside, so we'll be well ahead by the time it does warm up. Last week was a tough adjustment for everyone, but I'm hanging in t...

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

So, what is everyone doing to stay positive? I have been reading Jack Cole Plastic Man comics from the 1940s, watching Abbott & Costello and Danny Kaye movies, reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, and exercising.

Re: Coronavirus (COVID-19)

Hello, all! It has been a crazy week for everyone. Schools closed here this week, and I was laid off work, along with many others. Everything is shutting down for a while. All for the best, though. I am glad that Canada is acting relatively quickly, but it has made for a big adjustment. Fortunately,...
