Re: Why did Alpha and Omega get a fandom?

I really wasn't aware that anyone cared about Alpha and Omega. And I've never watched it, though I was astounded to learn there had been sequels! So, I guess I'm not the best person to answer that. :)

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Well, I'd say that's pretty sensible. Scary things should scare us. That's what motivates us to stay safe. But there are ways to protect yourself. As a healthcare professional, I highly encourage you to be vaccinated at the earliest opportunity, and generally avoid crowded indoor spaces. We don't ne...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Mission to Mars: The French release reportedly has poor video, with macroblocking and forced subs. The German transfer reportedly is subpar as well, though some find it okay. The German disc is in a DVD-size mediabook: Taken from Bluray-disc.de: Booklet with the essay Mission de Palma by Dominik Sta...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)

Geffrey, if you're still reading, I have some advice to share, though I do hope you seek some other assistance as well. It's really tough, when you're young and have not experienced much of life yet, to see all that is going on and not feel downhearted. I get that. However, a young person lacks the ...

FYI: Mission to Mars has Blus in France and Germany. But yeah, nothing in English-speaking locales.

Re: Disney Pixar's Turning Red

The film takes place in Toronto, the hometown of the director. It's big news here. There are glimpses of familiar landmarks, and a few maple leaves.

Re: Disney Pixar's Turning Red

Just saw the trailer, and... I am amazingly underwhelmed. The only thing that interests me is its Canadian setting.

Wow, 4 releases and nothing that remotely interests me. These releases used to always be exciting! Better luck next time. :(

Re: Avengers and the MCU

Sure, that's what a variant is, but where do they come from, exactly? How do they come to be? Loki was a variant because he went back in time, so I'm okay with that (almost*), but what about the others? Just normal folk making surprising decisions, like.... becoming female instead of male? Huh? So w...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

I did not like the use of time travel in Endgame . I am so over time travel at this point, as it's been quite overdone in sci-fi films and TV shows the last few years, and I felt it had no place in an Avengers film. And, certainly, not as a cop-out to un-do their defeat at the hands of Thanos. It's ...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

So, Loki ... Is it just me, or was Loki conceptually a disaster? I like the cast, and it was kind of fun and interesting, but I don't think the writers ever actually figured out what the heck they were doing. The whole "variant" thing never made a lick of sense to me. And they couldn't seem to stick...

Banks has also been attached to the film for over a year. That Collider article is from June 2020, i.e. before the author even died.

Re: Disney's Encanto!

I don't think that Miranda single-handedly got the film greenlit. That's really silly, no? I would hope that every creative person is always trying to do his best work, regardless of the job. And you can't blame someone for taking advantage when he's in demand. Would you expect him to pass on every ...
