Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

Um, no. I don't feel that way at all. And you can't really, either, since you have never seen Picard. :? I can accept someone not liking how it ended, given what happened, but I thought it was valid in the context of the story, even dating back to Next Gen. Picard becoming a synthetic was set up fro...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Watched the Snyder Cut, then the Epilogue a week later, following others' advice to avoid it on the first viewing... I liked the film! By virtue of fleshing things out more, I thought it was way better than the Whedon version, which felt so horribly truncated. And it wasn't as dark and depressing as...

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

Just finished Picard. I didn't find the ending all that "WTF," as it was set up from the beginning. I can see why people didn't like it (though I wasn't too bothered), but it was all part of the story being told. (Weirder than how Picard himself ended up is the forced romances inserted into the fina...

Re: Disney's Christopher Robin

At first I thought you meant that Eric didn't recognize Disney didn't make the 2011 Pooh. But now I see you meant that they produced the new short. Yes, it's quite clear in the article.

Re: Is the future of animation hopeless?

Cartoon Brew takes its lead from its operator, and Amid is a pretty dour fella, or at least he comes off that way online. And like social media, their comments section attracts more pessimists than optimists, who can't be bothered wading into the dirty water.

Wow, he's sold 36 of those so far! Some collectors are even more OCD than me and Ben!

Re: DMC Exclusive Disney Blus

Those are pretty nice, but I'd prefer that they'd been given different covers to make them unique. Theatrical poster art is always welcome. Plus, not only are they darn expensive, that shipping is extreme, even within Canada (where the seller is from). I wonder how many takers he'll get.

Re: Is the future of animation hopeless?

Animation is far from dead, and the future remains bright. That doesn't mean that it includes everything that one could hope for, or that the industry doesn't have its issues and challenges, but there seem to be plenty of opportunities these days to sell animated stories. At the risk of repeating (s...

I am way past the demogrhic for the TV show, but I did like it. And I will check this out, too. I'm all about my DC shows and movies.

Re: Avengers and the MCU

Yeah, pretty "meh" even now. Not that I won't watch it later this year, of course. It must be watched. But so far, I am not excited. To make this relevant, it really has to be setting up something new, and there is really no hint of that. Still, we might be surprised.

Re: Peter Rabbit 2 Trailer

"Theater" rhymes with "Peter?" Huh. Am I the only one that says it as three syllables, with the middle one being subtle? "THE-a-ter." Maybe it's a Canadian thing. (In which case, it's "theatre," of course.) It reminds me of "Arthur Christmas" meaning to rhyme with "Father "Christmas," but the joke i...

Nope. James fixed it. A software update was not compatible with our site, but it's being looked after now.

Re: Garbage pail kids return on HBO max!

We used to have Hubba Bubba as kids. And there was a weird urban legend about it having spider eggs in it, and that you'd end up hatching millions of baby spiders in your mouth if you chewed that gum.
