Them's some pointy starfish!

But I'll defer to your eyes, since you have the laserdisc handy.

And I agree that the pose looks really akward on that bathing beauty without a chest. Why exactly is she pushing out that flat chest of hers?

Image

This image doesn't really prove the pokie issue. It's unclear. I may be seeing what I want to see. ;-)

But this image clearly, ahem, suggests that the water is cold:

I actually don't know much about where Rapunzel is right now, other than that they've dropped the Unbraided. That's public already, as the annual report shows, so I'm not revealing anything there.

Two things:

I trust Lassiter implicitly.
Glen is a God.

Spirited Away, hands down.

If it only had the scene with the train on the water, that would be enough.

FWIW, I don't find it sexist to have male characters attracted to female characters. Romantic or beauty-attraction is a fact of life. It's not sexist. It's not even sexual unless you want to see it that way. Look at Rex and Slinky and Ham as just being Twitterpaited about Barbie. Dropped jaws is not...

The mermaid and the bathing beauty weren't topless.

But they did have big bazooms. With little pokey nipples. It was embarrassing.

Until the dvd reissue.

Unbraided is dropped.

This is interesting.... I always appreciate Jim's objective viewpoint. :) http://www.jimhillmedia.com/article.php?id=1821 In any case, does this mean that projects like "Rapunzel" are going to be flushed down the toilet now? Exactly what Jim is asking. They cancled Toy Story 3 so...who knows. :? He...

They can't make any sequel without somebody complaining about it. I believe they started making "midquels" because they were getting complaints that their sequels were focusing on the offspring of main characters from original movies. Yeah, that freaky one they made with Lilo and Stitch's daughter ...

We'll see.

I expect that Lassiter will see a broader pallete open to him. I still expect Rapunzel to be the Rapunzel we all want Disney to make.

(and by that I mean, a beautiful romantic fairy-tale)

Hand-drawn.

Yeah, I think it originally was going to be a part of Fantasia, like Lorenzo, One-by-one, destino I think... etc.

One or two more of these and you COULD release it in a Fantasia, with some padding from the original.

I can't wait for this release. Some absolutely choice animation there.

I still think that when Disney broke of pixar they were using CL to see whether they can stand on there own 2 feet, not really to be better but to see if they can make it. I don't know, but I expect it was the opposite: "See if WDFA can still compete or if we should shut it down and just buy Pixar....
