Re: The Simpsons

I really wish they had stopped at 30 years. It's a nice round number! ;) Doc Brown: “I figure about thirty years, it’s a nice round number!” ;) :) I agree, at least there would be some kind of neat cut-off point to mark the end, the REAL end, so we can finally have some kind of closure on this inde...

Re: The Lion King Remake

Yeah, I love He Lives too! To my regret I’ve never seen it performed (it was only in the Broadway Show right?) but I did used to have the Disney’s Greatest Hits CD series and that song was on there. It was just so beautiful, I’d listen to it again and again! :).

Re: The Simpsons

Season 31 premiers September 29th: https://www.denofgeek.com/us/tv/fox/281881/the-simpsons-season-31-will-premiere-september-29 And wow, that’s very interesting about D23. I guess the Simps really are part of the “Disney family” now. (Still not sure how I feel about that. :? ) Can’t help but remembe...

Re: Scooby-Doo and Guess Who?

“And I would’ve gotten away with it too, if it hadn’t been for those meddlin’ kids!” Hope they include the classic line. Lol. And, wow, Boomerang...that takes me back. I LOVED how they showed old Smurfs (80s cartoon) reruns. :). Do they still? EDIT: Oh ok they’re a streaming service. Just won...

Re: The Twilight Zone

Yeah, I love that one as well (directed by Joe Dante, who also did Gremlins lol!) and even now I still get scared from it, even just watching short clips. (The monster rabbit one...! ) New Anthony didn't seem as sinister and at the end it perhaps shows he could be capable of remorse and bett...

Re: The Simpsons

Yeah, I don’t like whole idea...those eps chronicling the early years of Homer and Marge’s relationship are some of the series’ most touching stories, and have a special place in so many Simpsons fans’ hearts. It just feels like such a slap in the face. :(. (Also, from what I saw, there was just suc...

Re: The Twilight Zone

Wow, Daniel I think I actually called myself that in 2006! That’s really sweet that you remember. :).

Thanks, i’ll check that out!

Re: The Simpsons

LOL, yeah I know you’re right Dan. ;). I’ve thought about that too. (Actually I did start watching “That Nineties Show” a while ago...I’ll watch the rest soon lol! I was kinda curious on how they managed to change Homer and Marge’s very 1970s youth into the 1990s. Hmm. :? ) I also saw the FamGuy/Sim...

Re: The Twilight Zone

Thanks Dan! :) Wow, I didn’t even know those existed! Very cool, thanks for the head’s up! :) Btw, kind of random: I wasn’t always a HUGE fan of Spielberg’s segment in the 1983 TZ movie, (“Kick the Can,”) but it’s definitely grown on me. I know some critics thought it was much too sappy, but if you ...

Re: X-Men Movies Thread

I know we haven’t discussed Phoenix for a while and that this is basically no surprise to anyone, but just thought I’d post an update: the movie bombed spectacularly, both critically and commercially. It not only plunged 83% on its second weekend (from 14 million to about 2 million) but racked up on...

Re: The Twilight Zone

Yeah, Midnight Sun is one of my favorites too. It still frightens me, not just because the acting is so good but that there’s such an atmosphere of dread throughout the whole ep that keeps building and building. (Plus the idea of “no more darkness” is just so freaky.) That’s really dumb of t...

Re: The Twilight Zone

That's probably because they ARE sped up-- Not exactly. One example that comes to mind is "The Howling Man". At the end when the devil would walk behind the pillars to gradually reveal his true self, that all now happens in the span of one pillar. Sloppy and pointless! Takes away from the moment. P...

Re: The Simpsons

That's nothing, try doing that with Marge scenes. Julie's voice has deteriorated so much. Most of the time she sounds alright, other times it's cringey. She makes Marge sound too old and exhausted. Especially when she cries. She's getting on though, so I try to cut her some slack. Unlike Harry who ...

Re: The Simpsons

Also, recently I did watch a couple of minutes here and there from a few episodes; and I was shocked ...because Harry Shearer really doesn’t sound a thing like Mr. Burns anymore! I’m totally serious: it was like listening to a sound-alike VO actor (possibly even worse.). So disappointing. :c...
