Re: YouTube Goodness

This is just awesome! :o I’ve never even seen this before! Six-minute Oliver and Company making-of TV special...brief, but interviews with not only Bette Midler and Billy Joel, but Glen Keane, Cheech Marin, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Huey Louis (sang opening song) and Roy E. Disney! (Aired during Mickey’s ...

Re: Terminator Franchise

Yeah, it’s a great movie. :).

“The only winning move is NOT TO PLAY.” Hmm, is there a way I could get my Siri app to talk like that? Lol. :P Less annoying than the regular voice, that’s for sure.

For some reason I keep thinking of Joshua the supercomputer from War Games. I guess he didn’t “learn” anything after all...

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

Random question; I’m not sure, I could be screwing this up, :? but wasn’t Steven Spielberg the actual catalyst for the “American” Dr. Who, being that he was apparently a big fan?? I think I once read that that was the reason the project ended up at Universal, since that is and really has always been...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Lol yeah. But I’m guessing probably some thought that it couldn’t REALLY be this bad and kept waiting for it to get better.... The big battles were all done by that point and just about everyone wanted out! But there’s Barbara napping on the couch and Bruce nervously pacing back and forth (the suspe...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

I will. I really didn’t think Cloony was that bad...he very much had an Adam-West type charm as both Bruce Wayne and Batman. And as we saw from a few scenes in B and R, Cloony had potential for playing more dramatic scenes as this character. TOTALLY agree on Bale, and Kilmer as well. 99% of the time...

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

Again, this is not meant to be a swipe at Eccleston, his Doc was way cool! :) (Although I do kind of prefer him in villain roles.) But just wanted everyone here to see what we COULD have had in 2005: (McGann’s original audition for Eight.) https://youtu.be/56h_JuBZ9_0 (I do still have mixed feelings...

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

Which is one reason there seems to be a cultural Great Divide between bingey fangirls who want to gush over the NuDoctor's latest "romantic" companion, and those of us who grew up on the "Sherlock in Space" Tom Baker and Patrick Troughton. Yeah, I’ve also sometimes been upset about the show’s “tran...

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

“Night of the Doctor”: Moffatt’s tiny seven-minute jewel of an episode that featured Paul McGann as Doctor number Eight. Great narrative “bridge” that connected Classic with NuWho. (I consider McGann as part of Classic.) No offense to Christopher Eccleston (great actor), but I still don’t understand...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Oh yeah, all that stuff rings a bell...a lot of it was in the tie-in, I’m almost sure. The book was actually very well-written; I don’t know if it’s out of print now, but it’s worth at least one read! :). One of its best aspects was how it gave us a lot of background on Edward Nygma and why he becam...

Re: Avengers, Justice League and more in READY PLAYER ONE!

Ending of Ready Player One with Percival and “Halliday” talking in Halliday’s childhood bedroom. Probably my favorite scene in the film (next to maybe The Shining sequence. God, that was brilliant. Ditto Stayin’ Alive...just so beautiful.) https://youtu.be/Dairyx94oKA So what’s your interpre...

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Re: A possible release of Joel Schumacher’s original version of Batman Forever Oh God, yes please! :) From everything I’ve read (which includes the 1995 paperback movie tie-in); there were actually quite a few scenes of deeper meaning and superior acting in Schumacher’s Forever (many involving Two-F...
