Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

OMG that would be AMAZING. I’m a HUGE Fox Searchlight fan already (Notes on a Scandal, 28 Days Later, Little Miss Sunshine: Nuff said!) That library combined with Miramax (bought by Dis in 1993 when absolutely no one thought it had any chance of financial success) would just be mind-blowing....

Re: The Simpsons

Love your new av Dan: “Quoth the Raven: Eat my shorts!” :P BTW, the Halloween ep with Fly-Bart STILL scares me whenever I even think about it. (Seriously.). Some parts in the beginning are funny: “I’d be stupid not to do this!” plus ANYTHING with Frink is automatically hilarious, but when Bart’s bod...

Re: The Lion King Remake

Hmm...is it the one where: (kinda curious lol. ;) ) Rafiki hugs Simba after the final battle with Scar and says: “It is time,” right before Simba climbs Pryde Rock? If so, I don’t even know what to say. Oh yeah, Simba just fought his uncle/ watched him being torn to pieces by the Hyenas (ok, I know ...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Absolutely awesome (and DEAD ON) mockumentary on “the TV show Galaxy Quest” that was on E! right when the actual Galaxy Quest movie came out in ‘99. (One of my favorite movies ever, actually.) Amazing how this captures the feel of documentaries on old TV shows so well. (Oh btw the first “TV historia...

Re: The Lion King Remake

Wow, on the one hand I’m not THAT surprised, but apparently this is an even bigger disaster than I thought it would be. :? MILD SPOILERS . . And that’s awful about cutting out a key Rafiki scene. :( I can’t help wondering if it’s one of those three beautiful ones in the ‘94 version where Rafiki mark...

Re: The Animator's Survival Kit - on DVD!

Yeah, I understand. She has this habit of alluding to fascinating events and then completely skipping over them, either for some much less interesting trivia, or just moving the particular “main story” along. :? (But did any of those Roger stories ever make it to that Premiere article from ‘88? Migh...

WOW. AMAZING article from the Hollywood Reporter (by Kim Masters) on Williams’ role as animation director on Roger. (And Williams in general.)

Re: The Princess and the Frog

Ugh, you’re right Dan! That’s atrocious! It’s so lacking in epic scope/drama/romance that it actually resembles those unholy DTV rip-off movies. Just Tiana and Naveen as a frog in a “cute” pose with no hint of the movie’s resonance? (Or New Orleans setting for that matter.) Plus what’s with the Bug’...

Re: Wonder Showzen

The most insane thing of all is that the three main stars aren’t even old enough to see their own movie, which is rated a hard R. And it’s not even like this is one of those serious dramatic films that have kids in them, and the child actors are protected by having content edited around them; every ...

Re: The Simpsons

Also HAD to share this classic moment! (A character suddenly breaking into song on a TV show or movie may not seem as “completely and utterly insane” today because of the dominance of ironic humor, but in 1993, everyone was like “WHAT THE...” Lol.) https://youtu.be/7s7YR9wS8eg “Who needs the...
