Re: YouTube Goodness
Glad you liked it! :) Here’s the Raiders one. Not quite as good in my opinion, but still pretty neat. (It has more of an “adventure” tone, not really mystical. That’s the only thing I might change, and maybe a little more momentum.) https://youtu.be/j_48dkGB90Q Oh, for some reason, it reminds me a l...

Re: YouTube Goodness
Really cool modern trailer of A New Hope (trust me, it's good).

Re: The Simpsons
Sorry, but... Phil LaMarr is a black dude. He also did the John Stewart Green Lantern on Justice League . And Static on Static Shock . Oh OK, didn’t know that about LaMarr. That’s pretty cool, he certainly did a great job as Hermes. Still, totally agree that it’s the performance that counts the most.

Re: The Twilight Zone
“Saw it comin’!” -Bender on “The Scary Door.” :P I never really got a chance to properly watch these, but I certainly wasn’t encouraged by all those negative comments from pretty much all over the internet. The one I kept seeing was “heavy handed”. Which very much put me off. Rod may have had a few ...

Re: The John Lasseter saga
It was aimed at adults, but there were many things kids could enjoy (ie: the funny wasp couple, even if they didn’t know what “WASPs” were). That’s the way of quite a few live-action adult-aimed films. That’s like saying humor in every live-action film is of the “adult sitcom” and “wisecracking” typ...

Re: The Simpsons
Plus what about Futurama? Amy Wong’s parents are played by Billy West and Tress McNeil. Neither Chinese or Asian. (Not sure about Amy’s VO.). I’m also pretty sure the Rastafarian Hermes’ VO wasn’t a POC.
Will Futurama now get a content warning every time you stream it??

Re: The Simpsons
Yeah, very disheartening. The bile makes me think of this comment (I originally posted it in the Song of the South thread) from the original Deadline Hollywood story about Hibbert: Let me break this down in language you will understand, Harry. An Actors JOB is to bring the most authenticity to a cha...

Re: The John Lasseter saga
Yes, even with everything else, I do agree. The truth is that I was absolutely enchanted when I saw A Bug’s Life in the theater (both times I went). Sheer brilliance all the way. He did amazing work, and I definitely feel he should be kept as part of the company’s history.

Re: The Simpsons
Also kinda weird that Hibbert is even focused on nowadays...isn’t it kind of awkward since he was originally conceived as a sort of Bill Cosby knockoff?

Re: The Simpsons Movie
Yeah, I actually just saw that yesterday! :). I wasn’t crazy about the language either (which is often my experience with HT) but I still enjoyed. One of my fave parts: What DID happen to Spider-Pig during the movie’s second half anyway?? Lol. :P Also kind of wish HT had included a bit about how you...

Re: Coronavirus (Covid-19)
Well, it’s happened....half a million COVID deaths in the US.
But I’m still hoping for a light in the tunnel.
