Re: Shrek reboot
Yeah, in my opinion that initial fight between Shrek and Puss (and Donkey) is way more violent/disturbing, even if Shrek and Puss do end up becoming friends.

Re: Shrek reboot
FWIW, I actually always felt the “kick-a** princesses” thing in the Shrek films was really tired, even, to some degree, in the original Shrek. And ESPECIALLY in 3. (Also having Julie Andrews/the Queen be one of them just didn’t feel right for some reason!

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"
I was going to write that I’d pretty much lost interest in this ages ago, but THEN I HEARD Q’s VOICE!!! Bring it on!!! :o (Also hope they have more Riker family stuff. That was really the only worthwhile storyline in the series, condensed to mostly one episode of course. His tween daughter was kick-...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
Wow, that’s quite interesting! :). Han is hands-down my favorite character from all three films. In my opinion he REALLY made the OT. He was charismatic, funny, mercenary, complex. And Harrison apparently knew him so well that he was able to devise on his own that PERFECT goodbye line we all know so...

I don’t mean to repeat my dislike of Seth Rogen’s work for the millionth time, but this has got to be a joke: https://www.newsbytesapp.com/news/entertainment/spielberg-taps-seth-rogen-for-upcoming-biographical-film/story I dunno, after Good Boys I really don’t see this guy in a Spielberg movi...

Not sure I buy this explanation.... https://nypost.com/2021/03/18/the-simpsons-producer-dismisses-fan-outrage-over-timeline/ Of course the aging/timeline issue has been talked about for years , but I think Selman’s answer is kinda disingenuous. (It is kinda funny to think of Grampa now being ...

Re: YouTube Goodness
Yeah, I had two Breathless Mahoney dolls (the three-inch plastic and Barbie-sized one), one Dick Tracy, the Dick Tracy activity book, trading cards, plus some other stuff. Also I loved, loved, loved the novelization. :). Plus used to watch the VHS every day for a while. I guess I was kind of a fan. :)

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"
I really hope they don’t put TOS in the “campy” box the way media historians often do. Maybe the producers didn’t have today’s technology (and the episodes’ visual style was different) but there were some wonderful stories, many of them quite progressive.
