Re: Wonderful World of Disney host?

This is cool! 8) :) https://youtu.be/HX3snR5xaKs (Thought I’d bump this thread for the heck of it!) It would be really cool if they had a host nowadays too. But the other great thing about classic WWOD, whether with Walt or Eisner, was the shared media experience of everyone watching at the same tim...

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

Wow that actually looks really cool. :).

De Lancie is a gift. Can’t believe how well he plays Q after all these years. (Maybe even better than Stewart’s reprisal of Picard.)

Re: Enchanted

The reason we got the cute, cuddly version we did three or four years of production hell later was a studio 180 when John Lasseter promised to bring Princess Tiana back, and all of a sudden it was cool to be a sentimental, musical-humming Disney princess fan again. Oopsie. How could Lasseter have d...

Re: Enchanted

Enchanted was actually Disney embracing its “fairy-tale past” even in the face of the constant irony/sarcasm of films like Shrek 3 and Happily N’Ever After. If anything, Disney was starting to understand that sometimes it’s best to embrace your roots. Yes, EVEN WITH Eisner at the helm. And neither h...

Re: Oral history of Emperor’s New Groove!

This is really cool! 8) :) https://youtu.be/89aePH1NTNg Watching Groove now, it really does have a classic Disney feel to it, as strange as that may sound, since the humor was so outrageous. But parts of it have often reminded me of crazy/funny humor from Walt era. (Like Jungle Book, Alice, even Swo...

Re: “Old” (film by M. Night Shyamalan)

I liked most of Split, ESPECIALLY McAvoy’s performance, but I hated that wolf-man thing at the end! What in the world was that supposed to be?? In a lot of ways the film addressed MPD very well, but that was just right off the rails. Thriller that’s also a sensitive portrayal of a disease suddenly t...
