Re: YouTube Goodness
a very clever and fun ad for a 'stop motion' add-on for Blender. .. worth a watch even if you're not a CG artist. Interesting that you posted a really for real stop-mo clip next…the CG mock-up is pretty good but still *just* lacks that "tactile" feel, like the fingerprints are missing! (And j...

Re: Incredibles 2 (and 3!)
With respect, I think you'll find Bird has an excellent team around him that greatly assist with those visual aspects. Hopefully a lot of them will still be working with Sohn.

Re: Incredibles 2 (and 3!)
Hazy is right! 1906 has been in "development at Disney" since it was first mooted. Even in them changing the story, there’s nothing to suggest this has any kind of greenlight: he may have used it as leverage to agree to an I3, but then The Diz may have been equally peeved that he then "defected" to ...

Re: Incredibles 2 (and 3!)
Did they change the story? It only says he’s in prep for Ray Gunn, which admittedly is a bit odd since they announced that a year or more ago and I’d hwve thought it would be deep or even finished in animation by this point. Hmmm…

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Wait…you’ve never heard of Tiranic!!?!???? The animated film about Donald The T-Rex Dinosaur, who tyrannically uses his tyrannical power like a tyrant and makes life tough for all the other dinosaurs until he falls out with his friend Tusk, a mammoth, to the point where both make themselves look so ...

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
heh. The first movie I ever saw at the world-famous Grauman's Chinese Theatre (just across the street from the El Capitan) was .. Beavis and Butthead Do America . "Bunghole!" Ah, now the first movie I saw at the Chinese was a bit better…a little movie you may have heard of called...

Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe
Excellent seat for the Capitan, Droo!
Bizarrely the movie I saw there wasn’t as good as FF probably will be…the ultra-disappointing Blues Brothers 2000!

Re: Criterion Collection
As much as I often like his films, I’m really only down for less than half of them (Tenenbaums, Life Aquatic, Fantastic Fox, Grand Budapest) or half if you include Isle Of Dogs, which I need to give another view. Glad to finally be able to nab a belated CC version of that film the but the others eit...

Re: Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Live-Action)
So...Snow White... Hmmm...so, yeah, I'm gonna say it: the first half hour I was kind of...liking! Well, that's a bit strong, but it was harmless enough and if you're going to do a Disney Snow White for now then this is how it would be done. But then the sets are bad: everything feels mega-fake. Gras...

Re: YouTube Goodness
Looks like they may have done a filmout for this, or at least have a great filter that mimics the photochemical magic that only happens with real film. This has been mentioned before, but it reminded me — and I’m sure it was a bit inspired by — this, from really for real 1985… https://www.youtube.co...

Re: YouTube Goodness
Looks like it may be…apart from the logo removal — which admittedly most people wouldn’t notice — it’s a very solid image. He’s done a nice job to present this in a more watchable version. Do you have a link to that IA version?

Re: YouTube Goodness
Mmm, 1080p and no scratches? Could it be someone is working on a resto? This would look and sound great in even HD and 5.1 (I won’t wish for 4K and Atmos yet!). Is this clip from a broadcast airing? You can see a logo has been "removed" in the bottom right corner. Maybe someone somewhere has access ...

Re: YouTube Goodness
I didn’t link, as there are several of various cuts and quality so it might take a bit of time to go through and find a decent/best one.
