Re: Disney's Aladdin (Live-Action)

If they’re going to do a sequel, they really should lean more into the 40 Thieves concept and go more Arabian Nights inspired than start to make pale retreads of pale DTVs!

Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)

I thought Kung Fu Panda 3, or at least large parts of it, was animated in China, in both English and Chinese formats?

Re: Criterion Collection

Oh yeah, meesa knows this! For surely okay! Worry would be making sure one got to you in the first place, but I guess you could send back if it was damaged. And, hey, once it's "yours", who’s to say you wouldn’t want to gift it to me so, theoretically, the value is whatever we say it is...! Maybe I ...

Re: Criterion Collection

Good to know Dan, and thanks. Yeah, if I went all in on Bergman this would be the way to go. I have a few, but only off-air while I waited to see what Criterion would do. And my concern now would be trying to get an undamaged box, which looks like it could be prone to much denting, going by the bulk...

Re: Back to the Future

That looks fun...though I’m not sure, having read those brief lines, that it hasn’t already exhausted the joke? I guess skimming the whole thing might provide more laughs in how they "translate" specific other lines and situations, though.

Re: Criterion Collection

I am on the fence over the Jacques Demy box though. That keeps jumping on and off my wish list, depending on how I feel about Umbrellas that day! I’ll probably bite in the November sale though...

Re: Toy Story 4

We have a female presenter here named Gaby Roslin...pronounced "gabby", just to mix things up even more!

Gabby as a word is to shoot your mouth off, to be overly talky or a gossip, as in "gift of the gab", as far as I am aware, at least over here.

Re: Toy Story 4

I’m waiting to see this on disc in our own theatre, but it’s going to take a lot to beat TS2, which I believe to be one of the best animated films of all time, certainly of the CG era.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I would rather have the original blue castle logo and music back on TS and TS2...I hate how the music scoring on the first film has been meddled with...it doesn’t even begin with a fade-in on the opening note, just an amateur cut so that they can insert the Pixar logo (that was never there in 1995).

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I don’t think that "curious kids" are going to notice that an outtake is missing from the credits of Toy Story 2...if they even stick around for credits nowadays (or, lets be honest, are even still watching Toy Story 2 anymore). They’re not even going to see it’s been cut, let alone put the film in ...

Re: Toy Story 4

Not to be picky (cue Eric comment), but the original Toy Story didn’t have a Pixar short attached to it back in '95 either. The early CGI/hand-drawn Disney short Off His Rockers (excellent) could have been a perfect companion piece, but Lasseter apparently vetoed it as being too close to what TS was...
