Re: Pooh & Bambi books going Public Domain

Because horror is cheap to make and needs little imagination.

Re: New Spielberg UFO movie

So I'm hating the title, because having aliens and the word Day in it sounds like a Syfy Channel riff on Independence Day (even the font is similar; c'mon Spielberg and Koepp, you can do better than this, even just Disclosure would have been better if that hadn't already been used by your previous ...

Well, almost 80, but yes. Spinal Tarp II showed there was a lot left there. This is still such devastating news.

Re: Animated Views Celebrity Obituary Thread

No words to describe what has happened, or no words to describe what horse**** Resident Chump posted about it? What a moron. Sorry, but I am so angry at that. No need to kick dead people. Despicably poor excuse for a human being.

As for the news, I am truly numbed. We were already going to be ...

Re: Golden globe animated movie nods 2025

Well, I did buy the disc to watch it on the proj, and had eventually intended to, but when I had time the other night, it was just easier to play it on D+. Halfway through, I was glad I hadn’t really powered it up, for what it was.

"Spite" had nothing to do with it! I just thought that was a weird ...

Re: Golden globe animated movie nods 2025

Yeah…and I finally ran Elio the night before last, already having bought the disc but ending up on D+, and what a lame movie! So,so, soooooo derivative of so, so soooooo many other things. Every element — characters, dynamics, designs, situations, dialogue, plot, music — were so rote and/or ...

Re: Netflix wins WB bid war!

Go, Mountain, go! ;)

We next just need Paramount to finally combine with Universal, which they’ve been in an on/off relationship for decades, and for Disney to buy Columbia from Sony, and all will be right with the world for the foreseeable… ;)

Re: Netflix wins WB bid war!

The next Archive sale, I’m picking up a good chunk of the more interesting curios that remain on my list. We don’t know if these titles will now just go OOP and then be chained behind a WB Classics tile on 'Flix forevermore…

One thing: everyone agrees that 'Flix has become the new "premium" DTV ...

Re: Netflix wins WB bid war!

So far…lots of hurdles, including Larry Ellison complaining his bid didn’t get looked at to his buddy Chump…

Another sad day for Hollywood’s legacy. :(

Back to Oz in Vegas...interesting take on it. The first half is most eye-opening - you'd think and hope the "professional, large scale" generative AI would be done better than this (with a couple of minor f-bombs):

Re: Zootopia

Ah, good news, as it sounds like I’m the same with you on those two other sequels. Moana 2 was better than it had any right to be, and I was hoping this would be better than "okay" too. I’ll keep expectations down, but I’m looking forward to it a bit more now. :)

Re: New Spielberg UFO movie

Coolio! We need another proper barnstormer from Johnny after the fairly week Fablemans and the Pile Of Density.

I had no idea the movie is shot and cut though! I'd heard previously that he was writing "some" music for the film before it was shooting, just in case (shudder), but recording sessions ...
