Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

That vastly superior recording of Poor Unfortunate Souls is going to be the poster-girl as to why Latifah should have been Ursula in the live-action movie. I don’t like that McCarthy woman at the best of times, but there’s now no-way she’s going to beat the energy, tone and performance of this versi...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Was just going to mention the Black Hole fixed disc. I think I read the overture is on the old one, but not accessible or something, like a chapter glitch. It may be that you can rewind to play it, or something like that. The fixed disc correctly authors the overture as the first chapter. As for str...

Re: The NEW Muppet Movie

Great to see Jim, but those are some strange questions and his line of enquiry is weird; more than once or twice Jim looks like he’d rather be anywhere else! The second part is more relaxed, but Hall is a terrible host! The next video to play on that list is a gem though, the near 40 minute intervie...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

I’m talking about the ordering on D+, nothing to do with the DVDs.

And Dr Syn might turn up sooner than you think: it’s the next DMC Exclusive Blu.

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

No, Dusty. There were black people literally all over the world, absolutely EVERYwhere, except Spain. As for the special, I have to say how impressed I was at what a logistical nightmare it must have been and that they pulled it all off so well. Seriously, there is a LOT of a LOT going on all...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

On DuckTales, they did make a big thing about both versions being available at launch, so I was surprised when Rand said said he couldn’t find it. Glad it’s there, even though we both had the DVDs. My thinking on the "random" episodes...maybe things are structured on their end alphabetically? All th...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

As it says, why the hell not? At this point any changes they make, or don’t make, doesn’t make any difference. The legend "Han Shot First" says it all, and is all that matters. Speaking to my pal at Sony here in the UK, the word is that new 4K scans of the ORIGINAL original trilogy will be released ...

Re: Scooby-Doo! Theatrical animated movie just announced

Oh dear. Just when I had praised the look and perhaps somewhere felt that this might just rise above any dubious notions of it being good, the trailer has given me several reasons to give this an easy pass. Voices off, Shaggy isn’t Shaggy, Scooby isn’t even Scooby - what’s with all the almost perfec...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

Cheese-whizz, thanks Dan! I did do a YT search but figured there might be somewhere that had collected the best clips together...the talk of seeing online clips sounded like there had been a group of them somewhere. This is great...I shall take a lookie! :)

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

They left the word "back" out of their intertitles. "Picard boldly goes one last time" doesn’t make sense, but in all other respects this is actually one fan trailer that feels as close to being the real deal as it might be.

Re: Disney's Aladdin (Live-Action)

I understand it, but can’t really see how it could beat the supposedly unexpectedly awesome TS4. Then again, that sounds like it skews slightly older, and if anything Aladdin was a true "family film". Nice to see it get some audience love.
