Re: Pixar's Luca

Proving again that audiences want to see big new films on big screens as they should be!

Let films be cinema exclusives for one or two months, then go streaming/video.

Re: Wilhelm Scream in Studio Ghibli movies?

Yes, but to 99.9% of the LOTR audience, it’s just a scream, and still used at the right moments. Just like the "crunch" body fall to the ground is just a body landing on the ground, that was used in a zillion 60s and 70s action films especially. Most people wouldn’t even notice the same sound effect...

Re: Getting reference in drawing canines

And then, y’know, come up with something totally new and unexpected and totally original that no one has ever seen before, and make up your own way of how they look and, more important, move. If you look at some of the questions you are asking, you’ll find you are giving yourself the answer as you a...

Re: Pixar's Luca

Oh, I wouldn’t call it pretentiousness, but perhaps an ambitiousness. I don’t think they set out to preach, but they do push themselves and set out to reach. Still, it’s nice every now and then just to have some simple fun, like A Bug's Life, The Good Dinosaur or even Brave. We'll probably run Luca ...

Re: Getting reference in drawing canines

I just typed "flying winged dogs" into Google and looked at the images that came up. Might lead to some inspiration or some of the things you’re looking for.

Re: Jurassic World

Oh wait you mean the first bug they used? Why in the world would they have kept it? As mentioned, the very first one was fashioned into the top of Hammond's cane. There were many more mosquitoes found, some of which had the dino DNA, but it was pot luck as to if they had fed on dinos and on which s...

Re: Jurassic World

The one in the first movie that followed on from the one in the teaser trailer? The one in the movie was *A* bug (mosquito) in amber, which was just one of many. Or did you think that was the first one they found and the Park was already full of dinos from some other method…? :? The one in the tease...

Sad that the hand-drawn tradigital animation in the original still beats the traditional animated bits of the new one.

Re: Wilhelm Scream in Studio Ghibli movies?

Well, obviously, the only way to know is to ask him! But it’s a stock sound effect, found in most professional libraries, and has been used in films totally innocently, as a scream, as much as it has, in more recent times, as a fun Easter egg with a knowing and nodding wink to those who recognise it...

That was a me. Your comment was sexist, inappropriate and, worse, incorrect.

I honestly didn’t make it past 20 minute of this. Something came up and I couldn’t watch to the end at that point, and, although I had intended to go back, I can’t really see myself bothering. It just didn’t gel for me.
Really excited for a sequel…!
