Re: Pixar's Luca

Maybe he'll pop up in Luck…? ;)

Glad you enjoyed it; we were going to run it tonight but ended up finally catching up on Frozen II and, bizarrely, the shoot 'em up Nobody, which made for an interesting double bill…!

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Phew! For a moment there I didn’t think Luca was coming to the UK, but just checked and, yes, it’s here today, thank goodness, as have family coming over later to watch. You're slipping, Dan! ;)

Fun to see Droids being added. At least they seem to be sticking to Fridays for the weekly big drops!

Re: Wonderful World of Disney host?

I think you e posted that before, Vi. I distinctly remember liking that end pan from Robin and Eisner leaving frame and the Sheriff entering screen right…pretty cool. At least even in the streaming era, the drop on Fridays, now Wednesdays, meant that everyone can still have those watercooler moments...

Re: Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Live-Action)

I think I knew why they called her Laverne, it not why they didn’t call her Marie. Makes more sense, no?

One of the funnest "age" things I ever saw was my Mum pulling out of our drive, indicating a turn right…and driving off left!

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Just…wait until Fridays…? ;) The shows are probably uploaded long before that anyway, so perhaps they’re just making them live earlier, as opposed to uploading, waiting/testing, and then setting live for the weekend. My guess is it’s about the numbers, surprise. Numbers for Fridays are probably down...

Re: Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Live-Action)

That touches on Victor and Hugo being named after author Victor Hugo — surprise — but I never understood why the third female gargoyle wasn’t called Marie. Not only is it a classic French female name as we know it today, but back then when such things were more common, it was actually Victor Hugo's ...

Re: Will Disney buy DWA? No! Universal did!

Only because Universal — or rather Comcast — still has an interest in a third share of Hulu. Once Disney buys them out and/or the license runs out, they’ll be forever more on Comcast's Peacock service. :)
