Re: Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Live-Action)

Maybe POE ultimately feels like a Disney picture…because half the crew was pinched from Disney! I’ve basically always referred to the film as "Disney Does Moses" in terms of its production and personnel.

Yes, El Spielbergo suggested The Ten Commandments, *after* JK outlined was his endgame was.

Re: Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Live-Action)

Rachel Zegler has been discovered for her first film, West Side Story, which is where Disney has seen her to pick her for Snow White. Do try to keep up! ;)

My quote was being Han Ford in Force Awakens, following on from your not incorrect Rita theory.

Re: Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (Live-Action)

Which is why I’m worried! It’s either going to be a totally redundant copycat, albeit "done modern", or too scared to really do it’s own thing or have a reason for being (Burton's Wonka), or it’s going to be insanely brilliant and eclipse all memories of the original. Hmm…which way do we think this ...

Re: Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Live-Action)

Haha…it’s so funny what you don’t know you think you know. ;) JK wasn’t actually bothered about stage shows — that was Tom Schumacher — but was, you’re right, insistent on more human character stories so as to try and top B&TB. That was his goal, hence The Ten Commandments being the first film tackl...

Re: Demon Slayer The Movie Hit At Overseas Box Office!

Pretty cool that the BD numbers are around the same as DVD but, yeah, I gotcha that "DVD" refers to the medium, encompassing all disc formats. :)

Re: Demon Slayer The Movie Hit At Overseas Box Office!

Gaastra, when they say "DVD", do they literally mean the standard definition discs, or disc sales as a medium? I know quite often the term "DVD" is used to describe all discs to most people, regardless of what format is actually printed on the disc, be it DVD, Blu-ray or Blu-ray 4K. I mean, almost a...

Re: Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Live-Action)

Well the basic "trouble" with Hunchback is that it’s *Disney* making this otherwise very deeply sexual undertoned and socially violent story. It was never just going to be an animated version of the Laughton film at the very least. They had a kid audience — the audience that feeds these films and th...

Re: Disney's The Hunchback of Notre Dame (Live-Action)

Are you talking about Master Of The House? This is what’s known as an "eleven o'clock number", the easy to hum along to (or, worse, clap to) that everyone will come out being able to "do" when the show turns out, around or shortly after 11pm. Superstar doesn’t really have an eleven o'clock, though H...

Re: Amblin Netflix deal

While it’s a bit of a shocker for El Spielbergo himself to go from Netflix-basher in favor of preserving the theatrical experience to making this deal, Amblin Partners' TV division actually has had many dealings with Netflix for a while now (including the excellent doc series Five Came Back), which ...
