Re: Muppets Most Wanted

Awesome. It reminds me of "Hey, A Movie!" from The Great Muppet Caper.

Re: X-Men: First Class

For what it's worth, the comics' chronology isn't any clearer. This is a case where Bellisario's Maxim ("Don't examine this too closely") definitely applies, and that's a good thing. The comics' timeline is so whacked out that even the animated series had to fudge things here and there to make it wo...

Re: Shrek 5 on the way?

<t>Ya know, it's kinda funny. When Shrek The Third came out, I wished they'd stopped the series at two. Then, when I saw the fourth one, I was so impressed with how much of an improvement it was that I was actually kind of bummed it was the last because now that they've introduced an entire communit...

Re: X-Men: First Class

Too many characters, too much reliance on the Logan/Prof X/Magneto triumvirate. Well, to be fair, that is exactly what the comics are like. I understand it's not for everyone, but as someone who read a ton of X-Men comics growing up, as well as being a huge fan of the animated series, I always thou...

Re: Disney's Frozen

Here's the interesting thing about that: At the beginning of the film, it's implied that the palace gates were only planned to be open for a single day before being closed again, this time for who knows how long. Because of this, it makes complete sense that Anna and Hans would want to be married ri...

Re: Kika and BoB II TV Series

What kind of budget were you working with and what was the size of the crew? If I'm ever able to get into the animation business, I'd want to do hand drawn stuff, but since no one really does that anymore (at least not on the independent level), it would seem that flash animation would be my best op...

Re: The Lego Movie

As laughable as it is, Dacey, conservatives complained that The Muppets was "corrupting children" because of the villain's name and they're complaining about this film for the same reason. Are we really that surprised?

The sequel actually looks like it might be decent. I'm surprised.

Lugofilm Ltd Presents

Hey guys! I'm back! I've been gone a long time, but since I was last here, I've started using a free animation program called Muvizu to make my own animated shorts. I hope you'll take a look and let me know how I'm doing. All feedback is appreciated.

Re: Fascinating Pixar theory

I like it. It's like the Tommy Westphall theory although unlike that one, this one will likely fall apart eventually when a film comes out that simply can't be made to fit.

Re: Disney's Frozen

<t>Frozen was okay, but the script really could have used another draft or two. The first half is great, but once Olaf shows up, the quality of the writing drops off big time and we're left with a film that could have been amazing if they'd only given it more time but as-is is only average. The sad ...

Re: Disney Planning Live Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers Movie

To be fair, while I wouldn't say it's a great film, G-Force could have been far worse than it was and after being turned off by the trailers, I was pleasantly surprised by it. That said, while I would have preferred an animated Rescue Rangers film, I won't dismiss it just because it's a hybrid. The ...

One thing the trailers haven't spoiled: Who's the villain? What bad guy (or catastrophe or whatever) is so bad that a supposed villain becomes a hero to stop him/her/it? That's what intrigues me enough to see this.

As do I. The Samurai Jack movie is, surprisingly, still in development, recently picking up JJ Abrams (!) as a producer. I'm still waiting for Dexter's Lab to come in the mail. The place I pre-ordered it from says it's on back order. I knew the show was popular, but to sell out before it's even rele...
