Re: Official Star Wars Thread
(Would be worth ruining the corny third-rate joke to publicly geek-expose myself by nitpicking that Ackbar wasn't in Episode V? Nah. Best to keep my mouth shut, and let the lame ba-dum-chinger get his fifteen seconds.) That's why I purposely used Ackbar. It's a bit like one of the Lego Star ...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread
Come on now ... nobody could miss the new Admiral Ackbar song and dance number in the middle of the Hoth battle sequence ... all together now: "I'm singing in the snow, Just singing in the snow. What a glorious feeling, I'm happy again. ...".EricJ wrote:... don't even know the changes made to Ep. V.

Re: Official Star Wars Thread
there is a practically-guaranteed giant pile of money to be made for both Disney and Fox Not really. It's only a few extreme-hard-core "original Original Trilogy only" fans who are that bothered about it. Everyone else already has one, if not multiple, versions of the movies anyway and is pretty fe...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread
Fox doesn't own anything to do with Star Wars ... they have the distribution rights to the Original (original Original Trilogy and Special Edition Original Trilogy) and Prequel Trilogies. Nothing else. They almost missed out on being the ditributor of the Prequel Trilogy. George Lucas bought back th...

Animated shows dubbed into other languages
It's really weird watching animated TV shows that have been dubbed into the other languages. Here in New Zealand there is a Maori channel on TV, and the after school time slot has sometimes had Maori-dubbed episodes of the old Redwall TV series. Now they've got Maori-dubbed versions of Dora the Expl...

Re: RIP Robin Williams 1951-2014
Mork & Mindy started getting really silly when they added Jonathan Winters as their child. Unfortunately that's the tendency with American TV shows ... they drag them on and on way past the use-by-date.

Re: Official Star Wars Thread
The best way to build up goodwill would be to fire Abrams and stop making new "Episodes". Just make new spin-off films instead. They should also finish the CLone Wars TV animated series properly.

Re: Official Star Wars Thread
Possible, but I wouldn't hold your breath. Besides, the "unaltered" versions have already been released as bonus material on a previous release, but in a format most people wanting them complained about (pan 'n' scan? I can't remember now without checking my discs).

Re: More Miyazaki on US Blu Ray November 14th
Most of the Studio Ghibli movies have been available on Blu-ray down here in Australia and New Zealand for a while as well.... have still not had their US Blu ray debuts although many of these films are available on BD in Japan and Europe.

She had been in good health and was active until recently when she suffered a heart attack. Arlene, as most Star Trek fans k...

Re: Ghostbusters III - OFFICIAL THREAD
Looks like ray and winston may be training an all female team of new ghostbusters! Maybe. Yep, apparently there's a new bandwagon jumping fad gimmick in Hollywood (as well as the comic book and computer gaming industries) ... all female leads. The fools in charge think that it brings in more female...
