I just have one question. How is the music? What I mean by that is if it's the type of movie with wall to wall contemperary pop and rock songs with almost no orchestral musical score to speak of like most of Dreamwork's Animated CGI Films and Chicken Little. Basically spitting in the face of the mus...

Droosan and Ben Thoes are great ideas and I think that it should be done. I think that most american movie studios are too afraid to push the limits of what animation can do. They terrified of a PG-13 or R rated animated film. Even a studio like The Weinstien Company is scared as TMNT was sopposed t...

Brad Bird and Ray Gunn

You know, just when Im starting to forget why Brad Bird is my all time favorite animation director I find out about a new project of his and Im not talking about Ratatouille. Noe don't get me wrong Im am excited about Pixar and Brad Bird's next Animated film, I mean anything by Brad Bird to me is ge...

Thanks YCougar I did some reaserch and the original authur that wrote Basil of Baker Street wrote 4 other Basil books, any of which would make great sequels. Here they are with breif story descriptions. Basil of Baker Street - Basil and Dawson go searching for the missing twins of Mr. and Mrs. Proud...

The Great Mouse Detective is one of my faves. I think it was hugely underated and Basil of Baker Street is one of the most appealing and engaging Disney animated characters ever. I loved him, He was so energetic and brilliant and had a great sense of adventure, he loved a challange and solving myste...

The Main Problem that I have with these Cheapquels is that most of the time they destroy the integrity of the original. Take for example Lady and the Tramp 2: Scamp's Adventure. The main problem I had with this was the songs. The Songs sounded way too contempeary and popish to be in a film that is s...

DJ are you serious?

Seriously You actually like prequels, sequels and Midquels of Disney animated films? Im sorry if I sound harsh, but with the exception of a few most of these are steaming and soiled piles of garbage. Ugh!!! They stink. Lets go down the list shall we? The Return of Jafar- This was one of the first on...

Just saw it and I must say that I liked it. I liked it a lot. This coming from a guy who has hated every single attempt that Dreamworks has made with CGI Films from Shrek all the way to Madagascar. Antz was good. I was shocked how much I liked this film. All the complaints that I have had about prev...

Shy Violet Will Smith basically did play himself in Sharktale and Madagascar was filled with songs, the score was almost non exsistant. I ment the CGI films are the ones that have an over abundance of songs. Surprisingly enough the animated films from Dreamworks that is not CGI have great musical sc...

Well at least PixarVixen is on my side. No,No,No....If Pixar starts filling their animated films with contemperary songs than that will just cheapen them for me. One of the many reasons why I think their films are better than any of the other studios doing CGI Films is the fact that they never cater...

I don't know to me the use of contemperary songs in movies, just cheapens the movie for me. It makes the movie dated. I think that it's cheap. Rather than have a musical score that fits all the scenes they cheaply slap a few pop songs in to it. The use of "It's the End of the World as we know it" in...

Music

You know the recent news about the soundtrack for Cars has me a little. Im not a big fan of the use of contemperary songs in animated films. This is one of the reasons why I'm not a big fan of any of Dreamwork's CGI Films. They all have an abundant use of songs to the point where I think it's almost...

Just saw it

Hey I just saw it and I was very dissapointed. I had a lot of pet peeves. First of all there were way too many songs. If you speak to anyone who knows me they will tell you that Im a huge advocate for more musical score and less contemperary pop songs in movies. I mean 2 or 3 are fine but the sheer ...

All good points. And I agree on the fact that DW's Traditional Animated Films are much better than their CG stuff. I really liked POE and Sinbad, Spirit was ok, but I was not to happy with El Dorado. I felt that the female love interest was animated and potrayed a little too........ erotic and adult...
