Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

$260m is not really a success for a $200m+ film. How much do warner actually get out of this? Disney considered the cost of Mulan vs the cost of the others. Hamilton is $75 million, which is nothing compared to the $200-300 million of Mulan (and probably Soul or Black Widow). Onward was a lost cause...

Re: Disney Movie Rewards

You forgot that Zootopia and Moana were released in 3D and that Disney still produces 3D in UK and Europe (where you can also find Frozen and Big Hero 6) and I don't really see a lot of studios releasing 3D now.

Re: Disney Movie Rewards

3D was dead before it even started. 3D Blu-rays are not enough to sustain the 3D "industry", you actually need TV content in order to do that and since there wasn't any then 3D television sets weren't sold thus making the films not sell. 4K and HDR is actually the natural progression from 2D SDR con...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Okay, I guess we are discussing this again so here are my thoughts: 1. Tenet has failed in theaters. Shockingly people are not going to theaters regardless because it's probably not a priority to them while there's a pandemic. So right now theaters is not really an option. 2. Regardless, it's not Di...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

It seems nice but I don't really have time to invest in TV shows so I probably won't watch it. I don't even watch The Mandalorian.

Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)

Disney's next investors meeting is on October 7th, which is when we might hear about Mulan's numbers.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Why are people so against Premier Access? It's going to be either that or constantly postponing films for the next year or two. I'd rather have Premier Access than having nothing at all.

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

I never cared for the prequel trilogy. I never could believe that a brat like Anakin is eventually the composed Darth Vader and his transition wasn't believable enough. As for the original trilogy, ANH and ESB are good, but I just can't bring myself to be interested in RotJ. I personally really enjo...

Well it worked. Expect more $30 films now.

I might not share this disappointment. I rather have the films like that than the films being postponed and not have them at all.

Re: Disney's Raya And The Last Dragon

It's going to be a mess just like Frozen II:
Q: Why the change of Cassie Steele in Raya?

Skyler Shuler: Heard it was Jennifer Lee who changed up the project. Don't know why.

If I'm not mistaken, it only means that you can pay for the movie through Google and Apple but it will still be only available to watch on D+

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

$75 million is nothing. Most Disney's theatrical releases are $150 million to $200 million. Mulan was $200 million and that doesn't include the money spent on marketing before the film was supposed to be released.
