Re: Hanna-Barbera Studios returns!
That was Hanna-Barbera's second studio location, built in 1960. When they first struck-out on their own apart from M-G-M in the late 1950s, the duo operated out of an (even then) old group of buildings on LaBrea Avenue in Hollywood .. which had originally been Charlie Chaplin's film studio .. and wh...

Re: Hanna-Barbera Studios returns!
The Hanna Barbera studio building is still standing on Cahuenga Boulevard, right next to the gates of Universal Studios' theme park .. just a mile or so southwest of Burbank. . H-B_Bldg_Then-Now.jpg . Though undeniably past its 'glory days', it was still a functioning studio when I first moved here,...

Re: Powerpuff Girls - Live-Action Series
I loved the PPG What A Cartoon! shorts in the mid-1990s .. and I adored the original TV series .. .. I also have a lot of respect for the 2006 japanese adaptation: Powerpuff Girls Z .. gotta admit; they took a concept that most might consider best-suited for a 5-minute YouTube video (the PPG as ster...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!
 Hopefully, Tex Avery volume 3 is still in the works. A Tom & Jerry Golden Collection volume 2 Blu-ray set would be nice .. but I'm not sure the T&J movie did much to improve the chances of that happening. :| I'm also still holding out hope for a release of Touché Turtle & Dum-Dum , to comple...

Re: YouTube Goodness
October 21, 2015 in Back to the Future... and now April 6, 2021 in Tiny Toons. The future has arrived. it's not 'YouTube' goodness .. but on a similar note, Archie comics published a story back in the 1990s which featured Betty & Veronica attending 'virtual' high school classes -- in the year 2021 ...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!
You watched all of Shazzan in one go? Well .. not in 'rapt attention', admittedly. I'm currently working on retopologizing a complex CAD model for a freelance gig, which can be 'mind numbing' work .. so -- often, while I'm doing something like that -- I'll put up a TV series on a nearby moni...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!
In addition to my comparatively-meager purchase of 10 titles during the sale .. I went back for Clue Club , Shazzan and The Roman Holidays the following week. I received both shipments last week .. but then, I live just a few miles north of the WB studio lot. ------------------------ I watche...

Re: Six Dr. Seuss Books To No Longer Be Printed!
fwiw, gaastra .. Dacey 's link refers to a different book; The Adventures of Ook & Gluk, Kung Fu Cavemen From The Future , by Dav Pilkey (of Captain Underpants fame). eBay and Amazon are far from the only booksellers online, however. One of my favorite online sources for old or 'out-of-print' books ...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!
Yes; CDD from Warner Archive is 'widescreen' .. but the WBHV commercial-release DVD of CDD from 2002 is 'full screen' (4:3) only. So, def go for the WA release. 8) Even so .. a Blu-ray of CDD would be nice to see, someday. :) ------------------ Thanks for the discount code, Randall ..! I used it to ...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!
WA's final '4 for 44' sale is on .. now, through the end of this week. Some of the H-B 'SatAM' titles I'd hoped to grab didn't make the '4 for 44' list, though. :( But there are still some gems to be had .. I'm gonna add to my Joan Blondell and Carole Lombard movie collections, for sure. :) --------...

Re: Space Jam 2
Thanks for the info, Ben.
The 'widescreen' framing only appears for a few cartoons on each Super Stars disc .. and I hadn't discerned a 'pattern' to it, before .. but your explanation seems logical.

Re: Space Jam 2
I regret not getting this when I had the chance: https://images.static-bluray.com/movies/dvdcovers/24572_large.jpg Naturally it's skyrocketing on eBay. Before the hoopla under $10, now $100 and climbing! Same for merch. I already own a few toys and like three plushies, but I've had my eye on the Fu...
