Re: Disney's Aladdin (Live-Action)

Wouldn't be against it completely. I actually love The Return of Jafar , despite a few issues. And the songs were pretty memorable like "Forget About Love" and "You're Only Second Rate". There's a lot of good despite it being a fancied up TV pilot. The original WAS a TV pilot, and "Aladdin & the Ki...

Re: The Lion King Remake

"A gift he'll never forget" -- kinda works. Considering how Scar is being portrayed. Just more subtle and less sarcastic. Still don't like it, but eh .. So, are they making Scar "less gay" in this one, or is the remake going the Full LeFou, for demographics? (When the gag of casting Jeremy Irons as...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)

Anyone think Disney will change Eric's race to? Well, let's see, going by Prince Naveen's example, the light-skinned black princess will probably be going with the hunky Hispanic prince. Probably, though likely a different race. For now, here's some casting news . Jacob Tremblay will play Flounder ...

Re: And the person who is rebooting The Flinstones is....

Yeah, we have cutaways from Family Guy , but it's not quite the same. Just to get a better idea how he would've gone about the whole adult vision. Probably not good since it was passed on, and likely mean-spirited. However, in a semi-recent reddit AMA he wrote "Honestly I couldn't figure out a way ...

Disney Store recalls Forky plushies.
And yes, EVERY single poster on social media has made the "T-t...trash??" joke by now. Just wanted to make sure we weren't left out.

I always heard the red hair (and the "Jam session" inspiration for doing the project in the first place) was based on the Brothers Hildebrandt:

Re: The Twilight Zone

There's just something special about it airing on network telly and knowing other people are watching it. It's tradition! Or was... even though I always get exhausted watching. 'Tis the principle! ; Seeing it turn up on Amazon Prime, the new Peele-cashin episodes are available for streaming in colo...

Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)

Last I heard, Li Shang isn't even in the remake. That is a bummer, wonder how they will go about it. Slightly intrigued by the new twist, training side by side and hanging out, I could see how she falls for a fellow recruit. On the surface, it sounds more realistic. They would be equals in a sense,...

Re: Back to the Future

It looks fun, though like the similar "Star Wars by Shakespeare" books, I doubt I'd ever read it all the way through. Good for a skim, at least. Aw, thought it was going to be like the Shakespearean subtitle track on the "Monty Python & Holy Grail" DVD, with handpicked Henry IV dialogue: ("The leng...

Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)

According to Variety, you ain't seen changes yet: She DOESN'T fall in love with Li Shang (who isn't him anyway), as that would be disrespectful, but falls for another one of her fellow recruits. Also, the Hun/Mongols confusion of the first movie is cleared up, and "Gong Li portrays a powerful witch"...

Re: Toy Story 4

Not to mention Gabby Hayes, of course, whom the Pixar character was undoubtedly named from. Hayes' Gabby also came from "talkative", but believe you're thinking of the wrong Pixar character-- Hayes became Stinky Pete. (Ie. the Woody's Roundup version, not the MeToo Kelsey Grammer version.) Gabby ha...

Re: Toy Story 4

Forky felt a little wonky in previews, already though he was starting to win me over. I love Forky now! Although the trash montage got old pretty quickly, it was nice that his little arc was taken care of early on. The gay community ("Pixar and WDFA are our friends , just look at Frozen!") tried to...

A few details. A phoenix might replace Mushu? That would be a shame. :(
It's designed for the Chinese market ('cause it sure ain't designed for THIS one...), and China wasn't happy about Mushu the last time.

Besides, Disney already used up their Will Smith allotment.

Re: Toy Story 4

And getting back to the movie: At the risk of SPOILERS, is this now--after Vanellope Going Turbo in "Ralph Breaks the Internet"--the second big Disney/Pixar movie in two years which ends with the character saying "F(orget) that, I'm going off forever to discover myself!" This could be one of the pro...

Re: Scooby-Doo! Theatrical animated movie just announced

Yeah, I’ll definitely wait for a non-deluxe standard set, like the Movie Scoob and Jonny cases. I don’t need the extra tat (and a box that will likely crush as with the whole Batman fiasco last year) What was the "fiasco"? I remember blogging about the "$800 Bookshelf" that one time Warner tried to...
