Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

Here's hoping a Quickdraw McGraw set is in the works, as well..! :) After having finally looked up Quick-Draw and the undisked Huckleberry Hounds on bootleg sites, I'm guessing Warner's "Too poor condition to restore" alibi is just that-- Fact is, John Seely's library-music (most of which is owned ...

Re: Lady and the Tramp (Live-Action)

So it’s becoming clear that Disney+'s originals won’t exactly have the same budgets and status as theatricals. If this was destined for theatres, this casting would have been an Anjelica Huston or Olivia Davis. As it is, I can’t decide if Disney+ originals will just be Disney Channel-level TV movie...

Jasmine's newly created BFF. ;)
Which pretty much destroys the whole "Trapped at the palace" idea that put her relationship with Aladdin into motion in the first place.
Or was CGI'ing Rajah too much trouble?

Re: Primal

So, apart from Sony still pimping its "Hotel Transylvania" franchise for a house brand, is anyone still taking Tartakovsky seriously as an "emerging artistic talent" anymore, like they were back in the 90s' when nobody knew what to make of Samurai Jack? Y'know, like Lucas with that first "Clone Wars...

And the non-Disney "The Private Eyes" (1980), with Don Knotts-- Sacred to a generation of 80's movie/HBO watchers, to whom Conway ...

Re: Honey i shrunk the kids 4 confirmed!

I like how they coined "legacyequel". Sounds like something I would've made up! :P For all intents and purposes, it's essentially a sequel. Just Disney trying to make it sound grander. Actually, I can see Warner using it for reviving that "Goonies: the Next Generation" movie they wanted to make at ...

Re: Disney's Aladdin (Live-Action)

Both this and Lion King are starting to become "Disney's 'Psycho remake'"-- Where they prove that classic films CAN be remade shot-for-shot, they just can't successfully persuade us WHY . (Although Disney Studio's own Twitter feed is already acting as if it's the pre-destined Biggest Hit of the Summ...

Re: Article on all the Disney live action remakes of animated classics

To be fair on Nightmare, the guy did create the story, characters and tone, and brought everyone together to make it. He’s the creator of that whole thing, and did produce it and make the final creative decisions. It is really a Tim Burton movie in all but name, even if the actual realisation was m...

Latest reason not to remake--
The cats are no longer Siamese, because Disney didn't please:

Re: Lady and the Tramp (Live-Action)

Oh, look, Lady & Benji! Unlike Lion King or Jungle Book , these are REAL dogs, so there's that... I'm thinking their "voices" will be in the form of voice overs. Or the CGI-enhanced mouths that the studio beat to death during the late 90's/early-00's, qv. "Underdog", "Beverly Hills Chihuaua".

Dear lord, I thought we'd KILLED "Two characters burst in on each other and out-scream each other in surprise" some time back in the 90's. (Y'know, back when Jim Carrey still took commercial studio roles, instead of an occasional paycheck to subsidize his weird indies.) I can't see any earthly reaso...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

No, there’s nothing on the end, but there’s a weirdy kind of "cast sign-off" way of listing the credits. And it has one major, major problem that rips the whole thing apart. Yeah, with all the heroes back for "One last blast"--and then that whole "MCU Schindler's List" tribute near the end--I wonde...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

and, as Ben said .. an unskippable Leonard Maltin 'disclaimer' was apparently enough to get past these issues, on the Walt Disney Treasures DVD sets. I'm not sure why that wouldn't work just as well, for streaming video. Just sayin'. And a simple non-smoking PSA on the DVD's was good enough ...
