Re: Avengers and the MCU

Well, we just all need to do a Solo on any Sony-only Spidey movies, right? ;) Uh, think you're not quite understanding the metaphor, there-- We could do a Solo on "Morbius" (since nobody wanted spinoffs), and Captain Marvel may have done a Last Jedi on any future non-Avengers MCU, but I don't quite...

Re: Avengers and the MCU

Although it’s being painted as Disney asking for too much, this is squarely Sony's fault, and it will come back to bite them for being greedy. Anyone else flashing back on Michael Eisner's "You NEED us, Pixar--Just try to leave and we'll do sequels!" and Bob Shaye's "So take your Hobbits to MGM, Pe...

Slightly darker trousers for Jodie in the next series
I think we've all had those "Slightly darker trousers" moments at one time or another.

Re: The Princess and the Frog

And where exactly did THAT plan go??? Relegated to brand-spanking-new Disney’s dustbin of abandoned ideas. I know it’s because Princess wasn’t the blockbuster they’d hoped for but seriously??? It still did well and there was NO reason to just leave 2d out to dry like that (I know, Pooh was r...

Re: X-Men Movies Thread

Yeah, I see your point, Daniel. It’s just so hard to picture someone other than Jackman, though. When I first saw X1 in the theater, as soon as he started to talk to Anna Paquin in his truck I was like: “That IS Wolverine!” :) In the truck? I remember us fans getting "The Curse is broken......

Re: Lady and the Tramp (Live-Action)

Ben was only asking a question. Why do you have to be so mean?? (I've gotten 23,697 's, along with the odd :?: and :? , from three posters over my entire posting career on the board; I use one, and I'm "mean".) :| Oh, and for those who've been wondering why Disney's "Hercules" has been trendi...

She seriously not being called Jockette though, right? If so then that’s rubbing salt in the wound and I’m totally out.
No, Ben, she's not called Jockette.
(beat pause)
...She's "Jackie".

So, wanna join me for a cup of coffee, on the way out?

Re: Lady and the Tramp (Live-Action)

Lol yeah...why exactly did they do that again? :? Was it because there weren’t enough female characters or something? Jock was a vital character: you can’t just make him female in this case because being male was part of his identity. It's the same reason Jasmine had to have a new female character ...

Sort of the same reason the Jonny Quest Blu-ray boxset is the "Complete Original Series", because anything after Season 1...ISN'T.

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

Ten interesting facts about Star Trek: Nemesis. http://www.warpedfactor.com/2015/10/10-things-you-might-not-know-about-star.html?m=1 I know Insurrection has its faults (especially the “Data learns to play” subplot ) but it was Khan compared to Nemesis! (BTW I know Tom Hardy was supposed to be...

Re: WB Archive Collection: DVDs On Demand!

Also, thought it might have been the same problem that kept "New Adventures of Huck Finn" off of disc for years-- Originally, when "Banana Splits" went into syndication, the wraparound segments were also used to air reruns of Tom & Huck, "New Adventures of Gulliver", and some of the B-team cartoons ...

Little Mermaid Live ! set for ABC this November. Already sounds better then the live action film... Is this going to be the "Heelies" version that flopped on Broadway? Could they still FIND enough for the cast? (Oh, and Flounder gets his own Ashman & Menken faux-Motown Little Shop-style song:...

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

The presence of Sarah Jane Smith, plus mentions of Brigadier Lethbridge Stewart and an appearance by Jo Grant solidifies the new series' acknowledgement of Classic Who. Even though they get it completely wrong , of course, in trying to pitch the series to "romantic subplot" female viewers-- The epi...

Also, because Warner doesn't really OWN the BBC Classic DW at the moment to sell to HBO-- Those are currently held by BBC/ITV streaming network Britbox, who's also been running them as their own 24/7 streaming-broadcast channel on Viacom-owned PlutoTV: http://pluto.tv/live-tv/doctor-who-classic It's...
