Re: Tangled (formerly Rapunzel)

I wouldn't worry too much about Tangled not winning the Golden Globe for Original Song. In fact, I'm kinda glad. That sucker hasn't been very good when it comes to its comparison with the Oscar for the same category the last ten years. In that time, five of the songs that won the Golden Globe for Or...

Re: Toy Story 3

Not sure if it's been posted, but there's a neat little article online about relationships in the Toy Story films.

Re: Epic Mickey

By the by, I picked up the collector's edition of the game. The bonus DVD includes pretty much the majority of the featurette videos that can been seen on the disneyepicmickey YouTube channel (including the David Garibaldi appearance at E3), a collection of concept art and production designs (some o...

DreamWorks presents Peabody and Sherman

As if we haven't had enough films based on animated TV shows, DreamWorks Animation just announced to their staff that they will be making an adaptation of Peabody and Sherman from the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show (the latter of which was itself adapted into a film in 2000 by Universal). Rob Minkoff wil...

The Flaming C

Many weeks ago on Conan, Conan O'Brien dropped by the Warner Bros. Animation department for some fun with regards to their work on the DC characters. At the end of the visit, he and Bruce Timm developed Conan's own super hero alter-ego. Earlier this week, the Warner Bros. Animation had a surprise fo...

Re: Tangled (formerly Rapunzel)

Actually Kick-Ass did pretty good in the States at the box-office ($48 million on a budget of $28 million). Wasn't a runaway hit, sure, but a success nonetheless. I agree that it took them some time to commit to doing a sequel, but I think that's mostly because Vaughn was waiting until Millar had th...

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds

Apparently the original thread got absorbed into the PS2 thread, which is odd given that the game is coming out for PS3 and X-Box 360. *shrugs* Any way, the third entry in the hyper fighting crossover series will hit shelves on February 15, 2011. It is being produced and directed by Ryota Niitsuma, ...

Quentin Tarantino's Top 20 Favorite Films of 2010

Quentin Tarantino announced through his Archives web site (tarantino.info) his twenty favorites films of 2010 in ranking order. Tarantino's lists have generally been considered fascinating as he tends to takes folks by surprise given his love for the art of cinema. After all, he would go so far as t...

Re: Epic Mickey

Been playing a lot of the game so far. It's very good. My one major beef, though, is with the camera, which is ungodly difficult to work with. It doesn't help that trying to adjust the camera is as much of a pain. Other than that, it's very unique how to go about playing the game. Mickey's actions s...

Re: Tron: Legacy

Plus prints, and advertising, and insurance. That alone added up to no less than 20 million. A couple things to remember: 1. Advertising back in 1982 is not the same financial amount as advertising in 2010. So what you think is 20 million was probably 2 million back then. 2. Note that I said that i...

Re: Tron: Legacy

And the original film flopped. Big time. No it didn't. On a budget of $17 million dollars, it grossed $33 million in North America alone. That's no where near a flop. It was not a major success, sure, but it was still a success because it nearly earned the double amount of its budget. And since we'...

Re: Pirates Of The Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides

What's interesting is that Cruz is six-months pregnant with her and Javier Bardem's first kid. Meaning they had to figure some way to film around the obviously growing baby bump, which I'm sure gave the costume designers headaches. The Daily Mail notes that, towards the latter end of shooting, they ...

Re: Beauty and the Beast Blu-ray

Just wanna say that Sony has FINALLY released the system update for the PS3. I've only run though the Beyond Beauty doc at the moment, but the problems that were present previously are now gone.

THANK GOD!!!
