Re: Tiny Toons Looniversity

Given that this was to be a reboot, I wasn't expecting aspects from the original to carry over (such as the shading that Dace brought up, I think it depended on which overseas studio worked on the episode that determined if shading would be applied). Buster's voice will be an interesting adjustment ...

Re: Criterion Collection

To say I was shocked when I saw this would be an understatement. This is an auto-buy for me. And since it's coming out in November, that means Barnes and Noble sale. 8)

Re: What scenes from animated films left an impression on you?

It's taken me a long time to remember just how scary it was, as a very young kid maybe 4 years old, seeing Mrs. Brisby have to brave meeting The Great Owl in The Secret of NIMH. I imagine it scared me such that I had to purge it from my memory for a long while before I watched the film going into my...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

So as Dacey, and probably Rand, saw on my social media posts, I spent Saturday up in Anaheim for Celebration. Turned out to be lots of fun even with only being able to spend just one day at the event. Had concerns with parking nearly taking me an hour to get to the designated Disneyland lot (had I g...

https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/disney/images/6/66/GargoylesMC01.jpg Getting to reminisce with Amanda Conner, who illustrated the majority of the books, about them back at LA Comic Con several years back was a real treat and fun to watch people in awe of the illustrated print that I still hung on...

Re: Animated Views Celebrity Obituary Thread

Was rather bummed to hear about this one. I rather liked Fred in what I managed to catch him in and his presence always caught my interest to at least check out what he was taking part in. I've had it in my watchlist for forever, but I guess this is as good of a time as any to finally watch Cast a D...

Re: Animated Views Celebrity Obituary Thread

I got to meet Pérez once at a convention. He had just joined CrossGen at the time, which was being touted as a major deal at the time, and was doing sketches at the booth. As such, there was a massive line. He was gracious enough to let me cut in just to simply autograph my copy of Avengers #1, but ...

Re: Animated Views Celebrity Obituary Thread

From one legendary comic book artist to the next. This one hurts just as badly for me. George Pérez passed away yesterday (May 6) at 67. He had been suffering from pancreatic cancer. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/george-p-rez-dies-acclaimed-174545653.html Pérez' work in comic books is astronom...
