Re: Norm of the North

I think asking me to stop the WHYYY joke because of his failing caps lock key is also a joke.

Re: Disney Movie Rewards

Hmmm. I'm a long time member and just had them all sent to me by DMR in a "Last chance to get your holiday bonus" email. Each gave me 5 points.

Re: Article on all the Disney live action remakes of animated classics

Hate to be a Scrooge but other than the fact that they obviously make money, I just don't get these remakes. It feels exactly like that period where Disney was making sequels to all their animated classics and none of us were fans of that! Like that era, I'm hoping this will eventually come to an en...

Eric, thanks for spoiler tagging a bunch of your post. I’m sure people will appreciate that. Just a heads up that I added one more just to be safe!

Re: Wreck-It Ralph 2

Great notes! I’ve made it a top priority to keep my reviews as spoiler free as possible. The downside is I have to be light with details and speak in generalities. But I think it’s worth it. I completely missed the fact that... ...Vanellope went Turbo! You’re right they completely ignored what was a...

Re: Wreck-It Ralph 2

...(Oh, and if you notice another trailer-hyped scene missing from the movie, stay for the mid-credits. ) I thought this was awkwardly done. The setup was weird, then of all the scenes to add back to the movie this choice didn’t make sense. Then a few days later I figured it out. I was at...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service (Disney Play)

That's a great point. Still seems a little odd to see it up there with the likes of Marvel and Star Wars though. But like those, I wonder if Disney is going to go all in with NatGeo, maybe somehow working their DisneyNature brand in there with it.

(BTW: edited the thread title!)

Re: YouTube Goodness

Just a cool tip you can use for youtube videos: if you want to start at a specific point with your embed just add "?start=47" to the end of the url, where "47" is the place you want to start in seconds. Like so:

Re: Grinch 2018 First Look at Cindy Lou

I actually thought they did great with Horton. It's not like the Russian peasant allegory would have been topical in the 2000s, so I think a change to a more general moral with the same basic theme was appropriate. The Lorax, however, was a mess! People might not see environmentalism as such a divis...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service (Disney Play)

...(And, apparently, has also gotten National Geographic Channel away from its owners.) National Geographic came with the Fox acquisition as has been known for awhile. What I find a complete shock, however, is that they are promoting it alongside their other marquee brands! Nothing against NatGeo, ...
