Re: The Lego Batman Movie

This movie was a ton of fun! Michael Cera's Robin was particularly great

Re: Man of Steel, Justice League and DC MOVIES

Again, from people I know, WW is a confused mess, and everyone pretty much hated each other by the end of JL. Fascinating to hear this, especially from sources connected a fella I trust like yourself. I do have to chuckle at the amusing visual I conjured up in my head after reading about how everyo...

Re: Ghostbusters III - OFFICIAL THREAD

Yo, the new Ghostbusters was a ton of fun and one of the better blockbusters this summer (boy has it been a dire summer for big-budget fare, with only Ghostbusters and Captain America: Civil War rising above "meh"). The four leads had excellent chemistry, especially Kate McKinnon who was exceptional...

Re: Wreck-It Ralph 2

It's always a bad move to put two big animateds in one year--Treasure Planet and Good Dino spring to mind--even if the first one "doesn't count" for being a sequel. The first one in line usually gets a little more success than they expected, and the second one suffers for it. Tell that to Kung Fu P...

Re: Finding Dory

So about those lesbians...yes? No? They're not explicitly referred to as a couple on-screen...but they are seen walking hand-in-hand in the last few seconds of their super brief on-screen appearance. Make of that what you will. It'd be cool if they were since mainstream American feature film animat...

The Peanuts Movie definitely did it just last November.

Sing

The next film from Illumination after The Secret Life Of Pets (aka Doggie Toy Story) is Sing, which released a new trailer this week. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zvjmt4pwtdg So somebody watched Zootopia, huh? All kidding aside, it looks OK. Nothing revolutionary, but the earnestness of...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

The New Line tentpole is probably either the Dwayne Johnson Rampage movie or that Justice League Dark feature. No clue what the March 2, 2018 film is though.

Re: The Good Dinosaur

Interestingly, with The Good Dinosaur now confirmed to be on 3D Blu-Ray, that makes Monster University the only PIxar film produced from the start in 3D (basically all Pixar movies staring with Up onward) not to be released on 3D blu-Ray in North America.

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

Best part about this, for me, is that Gugu Mbatha-Raw is confirmed to be in the movie!

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

The best part about this sketch is that Driver isn't playing a stylized version of Kylo, this is pretty much him from the movie having to interact in these more mundane situations, and that's just great.

Re: Inside Out

But...ouch...not even a nomination in ten slots? In such a crap year for movies? Hopefully actual filmmakers will be able to recognise where the brave efforts were made... Gotta disagree with ya there on 2015 being a crap year for movies Ben. For me personally, 2015 has delivered a number of top-no...

Re: Animation boys club?

There's certainly progress being made in the world of animation, though there are many many hurdles yet to go (Pixar still hasn't had a woman direct a feature from start-to-finish) and man, hearing the struggles many of these women go through in the industry just makes me sick to my stomach. Kudos t...
