Re: The Simpsons

Oh gosh the Rubik’s Cube scene from Hurricane Neddy! :) (Plus I love how the Olmek head is still there.)

Re: The Simpsons

Yeah, it doesn’t seem like they even tried...good call. How can anyone POSSIBLY justify this ep?? :| Oh, two favorite lines from the “commentary on the commentary.” :P 5:00 – One of them watched this one the night before the commentary and can’t remember if there’s a B story or not (there is). Maybe...

Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)

Wow. Now THAT’S one remake I really want to see! :) The trailer was amazing: dramatic, exciting, mysterious. (But, yeah, I agree Dan, maybe a little too serious.) Loved everything, the camera work, set design, as well as acting; Mulan herself is very convincing and perfectly cast. (My only q...

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

Levar Burton’s Geordi plays a vital role in the Picard prequel, which is only available in comic book form. So it’s certainly possible that he’ll appear in the actual show. (Though nothing has been confirmed as of yet.) https://screenrant.com/star-trek-picard-comic-geordi-la-forge/ FYI: Spoilers for...

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

Yeah, his Movie Yearbooks had SUCH an impact on me...I originally had one with the old format of including most of the movies (usually major ones) he’d reviewed since the 1970s to the present. (Later on the yearbooks only had reviews from the past year.) His opinions were just so thought-provoking a...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

Have NO idea if ANY of this is true, (plus the story is a month old) but apparently there have been quite a few rumors that the early test screenings of TROS were total disasters and that one scene towards the end actually caused the audience to burst into laughter. Also that Bob Iger was present at...

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

Very interesting review of Star Trek (2009) by Roger Ebert. It’s mixed, but definitely more positive than his Nemesis one. https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/star-trek-2009 Unfortunately, he died before Into Darkness was released (I think it was actually the same year, 2013). It would have been so f...

Re: The Simpsons

Awesome, absolutely hilarious commentary (positive and negative, mostly positive) on every episode of Season 8. :) (Scroll down page.) (On the top there’s also a really interesting “review” of the DVD commentary track by the participants of the episode “Homer vs. Dignity”, with its, um, “questionabl...

Re: The Simpsons

Another cool Simps mini-feature on character/story. (Season 2, 1991. Ah, the memories ;)) https://youtu.be/i7Tw9jgMjEk Although I know it’s kind of a “forgotten” episode—like many in Season 2, unfortunately—I LOVE the marriage retreat one where in the end Homer does the unselfish thing and throws ba...

Re: YouTube Goodness

(Also quoted in the CinemaBlend Article) From an interview with The New York Times two months ago; I just think that we might’ve put a little bit too much in the marketplace too fast. I think the storytelling capabilities of the company are endless because of the talent we have at the company, and t...
