Re: Lady and the Tramp (Live-Action)

Hollywood Reporter says it's a dog... Though hardly as disposable as the cheapo sequels Disney churned out during the heyday of VHS and DVD, it is nearly personality-free, suggesting that the studio will save any features with real charm or grandeur for the big screen before offering them to viewer...

Re: The DOCTOR WHO Thread

Lol. :) Embarrassed to say I still haven’t seen Thirteen. Her season never came to Prime, and then I deleted that service anyway. (Using Apple TV now to stream different channels). I know she’s gotten mixed reviews, but I’m still very curious to see how she’s playing it. I wonder if she’s anything l...

Re: Official Star Wars Thread

Just watched the final trailer...have to admit I was pretty blown away. :). Definitely looks both action packed with real emotional stakes. Music score already excites me. And seeing/hearing Threepio speak was the icing on the cake!* *Thank God it’s still Anthony Daniels. In my opinion a sound-alike...

Re: The Simpsons

Apparently Simps will begin airing on Disney+ on November 12, the day it launches. (In North America and the Netherlands. I assume it’ll be all thirty seasons.)

Funny promo:

Re: Disney Renaissance 2/Disney Revival

Interesting (but should also be taken with a grain of salt, as it’s mostly speculation at this point) story on who might possibly succeed Iger when he leaves in two years: https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-10-29/who-is-the-next-disney-ceo-it-may-be-streaming-head-kevin-mayer “He’s a close...

Re: The Twilight Zone

Yeah...it’s so out of nowhere for her to suddenly behave like that; at first I was SURE the whole thing was a ruse. I mean she’s not only way more powerful than her father but can actually READ HIS MIND, and he can’t read hers! :? Obviously it’s no contest. As you said, could have been so much more....

Re: J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek"

All films, good or bad, start with a script. Sometimes they can be fixed, and sometimes they can’t, but release dates, merchandising and marketing deals mean they have to shoot, ready or not, to make the deadline... Yeah...I think I know what you’re getting at. I mean it had to have been somewhat h...

Re: The Twilight Zone

Very cool. Also, TZ Companion is a great book. :). Oh yeah, I did recently watch the Good Life sequel/update (incredible how much Mumy’s daughter resembles him)...the weird thing is that I actually HAVE seen the entire episode years ago but forgot I did! ;) MAJOR SPOILERS It starts out very creepy, ...

Re: Lady and the Tramp (Live-Action)

Vi's obviously never had a doggie? I understand my pooch perfectly, and he even wore a bow tie for my wife's birthday yesterday. When we let him have the crumbs after a bit of cake, he waits patiently until we put it on his little table (really a stool) and then eats when he’s told he can. I can to...

Re: YouTube Goodness

LOL! :). Yeah, it certainly is unique and quite different from the original version (was is excellent too...still plays in my head today!).

Hmm...that’s very interesting, I never thought of linking that word to chocolate! (It literally means “the detective”. ;) )

Re: YouTube Goodness

Incredibly weird (but cute! :)) local Michigan promo for Next Gen, set to the tune of Billy Joel’s “We didn’t start the fire”. (Probably from around 1990.) https://youtu.be/g_9eGjZoYoc EDIT: Actually it was Fox 23 in Albany, New York. So funny how when I lived there years later, they always advertis...

Re: YouTube Goodness

Shuki Levy, a very well-known TV producer and the man who created the Power Rangers with Haim Saban (and who also wrote quite a number of themes/background music for a ton of cartoons in the 80s and 90s) composed the famous Inspector Gadget music we know so well. As IG has been aired all over the wo...
