Yikes. Glad I didn't see that one in the theaters, then. I hope Surf's Up doesn't have the same crudeness problem, because visually it looks great so far. I loved the lighting and backgrounds in the previews I saw from Open Season, but I thought the character designs (especially Elliot) were just pl...

Found a site with all four TV spots on it - here are the Quicktimes: (the ones that I posted Youtube links to before) Spot 1 Spot 2 (the ones I hadn't seen yet - seem to be aimed at the younger set a little more than the first two) Spot 3 Spot 4 And I found 'em here , where there are varying sizes i...

I agree - Watership Down is fantastic, mainly because it's one of the few based-on-a-book movies that KEEPS most of what made the book great. Though moms always freak out about the end... it's about bunnies and animated, right? Should be great for my five-year-old! Balto has a decent fandom, ...

I've never been a big "omg celebrity!" person. I don't even like most popular music, and haven't since at least the late '90s. I lost any respect for Britney pretty quickly once she started going for the sleazy persona... but this recent breakdown gives me sympathy pangs. Poor girl has run herself i...

There are at least two (possibly three) TMNT TV spots that apparently started airing today... and Mako speaks in these! His voice will take some getting used to as Splinter, but it's not too bad, I'd say. Youtube links: Trailer1- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edTbkLDVITM Trailer2- http://www.youtub...

They screened most of the short films at my college Friday, and "The Danish Poet" was one of them. I enjoyed it... the animation was simplistic, but the story was fun and the humor was great - laid-back, but hilarious. And "The Little Matchgirl" made me sniffly, though I've seen it online several ti...

I dunno, I do like the design for the dog. He'd make a good plushie. :D He also looks fun to draw, even though he was going to be CG. The bottom picture has awkward lighting that makes him look like a cow, but overall he looks cool. *sigh* I'm finding myself neither pro- or anti- Lasseter right now....

Food Fight? What is that? It looks really, really dumb.

...that weasel character looks a lot like the lemmings from BYU's animated student film about 4 years ago. Weird.

What Would Y Cougar Do, actually. :P *snort* This made me chuckle. *blesses you all with cookies, or something* I hope I didn't come across as "O so wise  " but I want us all to be friends. And this topic is starting to be a dead horse and making me tense. Once these films start to come out, ...

That's what I want to know. I keep hearing interpretations that vary, and I just want to hear from someone who knows , now. As much as I love 2D, I've been hearing great stuff about this technique and would love to see what they've come up with. I certainly wouldn't want them to have to change if th...

The part of the description that called Mickey a "rodent" threw me off for a second. Sometimes I forget. :P

I'm sure that Chris had more planned than what we heard (after all we only got the "pitch" part of it). One might want to keep this in mind for the reworked version, as well. ;) I like Chris Sanders' artwork. Lilo and Stitch was pretty good (the quirkiness was indeed fun) but I don't think we can t...

Hm. The claim that Disney going back to 2D is not "embracing technology" and putting the company in a "time warp" rubs me the wrong way. Just because it's hand-drawn makes it technologically backwards? It means we're trying to pretend computer animation doesn't exist? I mean, I seriously doubt King ...

^ I have to agree with that one. It throws you right into the movie before pulling back and letting you get to know the human players. Plus it's just cool - when the Giant is falling to earth in a flaming mass, that angle they use is perfect and almost flips my stomach as if I were falling with him.
