Comics You'd Like To See Become Animated

A few days ago I re-read one of my favorite comics; The Chuckling Whatsit by Richard Sala. Upon once again venturing into it's dark world of hapless hack-journalists, mysterious women, masked assassins and labyrinthine conspiracies, it struck me that this particular comic would propably make a great...

Generally, I prefer watching a movie or series with subtitles, there are exceptions to this rule though. For example; I actually prefer the english dub to "Cowboy Bebop" over the original japanese speech, not sure why though.

Now that I think about it, Once is right, it's from one of the animated "Batman" movies. "Return of the Joker", I believe.

That sounds familiar, I think it's from "The Incredibles". Syndrome says it to Mr. Incredible near the end.

I'm going to assume that Goofy, in the comic Ben refers to, suffered from amnesia or something like that and simply believed himself to be The Phantom Blot. Not only do we get to see The Blot's real face at the end of his first appearance (as well as several European ones, such as the excellent "The...

The Phantom Blot is one of my favorite "Disney"-villains, especially the earliest version of the character. Sadistic and unpredictable, a great foe for Mickey.

You're propably right, in my defense though, half of the movies I mentioned are full-length features. So, what's the reason for there being more serious animated shorts than features? Is it because the shorts are often made by independent animators who propably don't worry much about whether their f...

Count me among the others who really liked Sydow's performance as Ming in the "Flash Gordon" movie.

As for Bergman, I'm swedish and I've yet to see a single one of the man's movies.

Incidentally none of those films are American. Ahe True, although I'm not sure what conclusion to draw from that. Perhaps serious animation is more common in Europe where the majority of these movies are from (I think "Jasper Morello" was made by an Australian, but I'm not completely sure, I have t...

I take it that Fantastic Mr. Fox is based on the Roald Dahl novel, or am I mistaken?

I must apologize Ben, now that I look at your original post (the one after my "list post"), I realise that I misread it. A really embarassing mistake to make on my part. Please, forgive me.

Everytime I see that comic it makes me realise that Donald's mellowed considerably over the years. Sure, he still throws temper tantrums, but at least now he doesn't try to drown people.

Yes, and I'm still trying to forget it. :P I did like "Space Jam" when I was a child (odd, since I'm not interested in basketball) but I'm not sure if I could stomach it these days. Sunday: "Dunderklumpen" is certainly the weakest of Per Ahlin's animated features, his later stuff like "Hundhotellet...

You're most certainly correct that comics count as cartoons as well, for some reason I tend to associate cartoons with animation only, I'm not sure why since many comic-book artists have been refered to as cartoonists. As for the comeback, I'm afraid that you've lost me on that one, since I wasn't t...
