SharkTale for me: I enjoyed it enough, but it was little more than a slight diversion, but annoyed me by basically having the audacity to end with a song performance using animation that I was seeing every half an hour on TV for free (the Christina music video). I don't know, but the whole thing see...

That's the problem with early-in-the-year releases. They get forgotten and their home video releases don't do much to bolster them in the run up to the awards. The best time to release a movie with Oscar clout is end of year, with the DVD soon after, as has happened with Eternal Sunshine, which has ...

We've actually posted on this several times before!

The link was posted in to us on the form submission page by three or four people, but I guess you were the one who's link was picked up first!

As I say above... I simply can't wait!! :)

Hahahaha!

Wanna hear something even funnier?

Phantom has been nominated for Best Cinematography! Now THAT is a joke - wonder if it got a nod becuase you can actually SEE the camera operator's shadown run across the shot at one point??

:(

What really gets me about these two is the bad registration, even worse than Don Bluth's budget made films.

Funny thing is, he was only working at constraints of $11-19m during the 80s, so it can be done with better quality, even if his stories were over tampered with.

That would make a really nice cover image, but it's not going to happen with Roy Disney's sig on it! ;) But what to fill the two discs? Here's my personal run down of what they could do to bolster up material. The first disc, of course, would be devoted to SOTS and some behind the scenes material (e...

Been GAGGIN' to see some of this! Wow! Have to say though, that it does look a lot like a Nightmare re-tread, at least visually. That's no bad thing at all when that was as visually scrumptious as it was, but I hope it's not a case of trying to catch lightning in a bottle twice. The new story does l...

Interesting! We got a two-pack like that here in the UK (which is a much better way of storing them). BUT... not only would I not buy this pack since the movies are pretty bad (and both screened on TV here over Crimob anyway), but also because King Of Thieves has been cropped to 1.85:1, when it was ...

I always thought the Lion King thing was fake. You can either see "SFX" in the cloud dust, or you can see "SEX"... it's up to the viewer (and yes, I'm looking at the LD here). The Rescuers thing was weird. I can't remember the artist, but the "girlie picture" is actually a work of art (I think by Pi...

Mickey - we're not "ganging up" on you!!

But your lollipops stink, and I could have told you that from the trailer! ;)

I love images like that. You just know that someone at Disney/Lucasfilm/whoever-wants-to-point-out-what-a-great-job-they're-doing has spent time adding just a little more dirt and grime to those "before" sides! Does look good though, but the trailer has had all these cleaned up shots on it for a whi...

Well, that's just messed up!

What the heck is going on there? Seems they have squished the pics to 16x9 screen size and gone on a brighten/soft spree.

I don't think either are a sign of what the finished image will look like, though. :)

Of course, it was the way Disney marketed it that was wrong! M Night didn't have a single word in how they put it out, did he? He didn't come up with the whole "Buried Secret" idea and appear and promote The Village with that, did he? He didn't suggest the poster image (apparently taken by him perso...

Going back to Mickey A's original question about remaking the hits... Are you NUTS?? Filmmaking, for all it's "art", is seen as a money making busniess by the Studios. Therefore, if a film is none too successful with critics, but goes out and does decent business, what is reasoning is there to remak...

The whole Blockbuster thing sounds stoopid.

How can they ever say when they'll have a movie in?

Mind you, and despite you being a "Sharlatan" fan, I think they did you a favor this time, Mr SP.

Catch it on TV for free in a few months. ;)
