Sorry for the minor bump, but Ultimate Disney now have the cover and disc arts for all four Treasures of Wave 5. I personally like them all, especially the Rarities and Donald one.

Your thoughts on revisionist film making...

What is your opinion on revisionist film making? It is a somewhat controversial aspect of film making, so I wondered what your opinion was. I'll make a section for each aspect of revisionism and sum up my thoughts in each one. Extra Scenes As long as the original is still intact in some way or anoth...

Cinderella Restoration Clips

This is (for me, anyway) oldish news, yet these were found on a webpage that a forum member on Ultimate Disney made. They originate from a Disney Channel preview of the Disney Channel Circle of Stars music video (oh dear...) that will be appearing on the upcoming Cinderella DVD. The restored ...

I know, that thing is a beauty. It seems to remind me of Aurora in the forest singing "Once Upon a Dream" with the animals, which seems to make me want to see Rapunzel become a scope production in the same way that Sleeping Beauty was. As for that CGI image; well, I heard that the process being used...

Bleh, I'm still more excited about Disney's other upcoming films (Rupunzel in particular). I mean, don't get me wrong, this looks cute an' all...but...really, that's it. Just cute. You've summed up my thoughts. Chicken Little looks like a fun movie, yet nothing more. Rapunzel Unbraided , however, i...

I've just pre-ordered the 3 Disc Collector's Edition of The Wizard of Oz at PLAY USA, which is selling for £17.99, just being able to be bought without tax. I've compared the price with Amazon (by doing a price conversion at www.xe.com), and it looks as though they're more expensive with the 3 disc ...

You know, they could have been talking about the live action version; in Britain, a little bit of the film was cut:

EDIT: I seem to have a little star near my name now. Wheeeee! :D

I believe that in the original, he stuck his finger up whilst walking under the skirt, and on home media releases, this the offensive finger was edited out.

I think horrible would be an overstatement, and it is better than the teaser on the UK Bambi DVD and the Region 1 Brother Bear (the one where he's being mobbed by the press), but it is a bit weird.

101 Dalmatians edited!?

I just found this article from a link on the Home Theater Forum. Written in 2000, it's basically the type of article that would have appeared on Save Disney (aka claiming that Eisner is the devil incarnate), slamming everything that Disney does wrong. However, it came to one point about censorship i...
On the one hand, the editors were savaging Eisner's Disney in every way imaginable, painting Eisner as only a little less evil than Saddam Hussein. (or Gollum from LOTR, or whatever the writer thought of that day).
It's interesting to note the "2 Disc Disney Sets" page on S...

Whilst we're on the subject of The Lord of the Rings , has anyone seen the animated version from the 1970s that cuts out the Return of the King section? Talk about films abridging their source material... I've just ordered The Simpsons: Season 4 at Sendit.com for £14.99 (good price! :D). This...

I'll add another category, if that's O.K.: Worst TV show : Without a shadow of a doubt, House of Mouse. Even worse than Quack Pack! No! House of Mouse was fun! I didn't get the chance to see a lot of it, but from what I saw, it rocked! As for my choice of Worst Disney TV show, I'd have to g...

I'll probably go with Disney on this one. I was disappointed by Treasure Planet and Atlantis , but there have been some nice enough films from Disney in the past seven years, Mulan being the best easily. However, I feel that the position for the best between Disney and Dreamworks is actually close I...
