First off, thanks for the advice guys! :] There are also several Studio Ghibli films that Miyazaki did not direct, but I'm having difficulty trying to guess what you're actually looking for. Hmmm, I'm also trying to look outside Studio Ghibli, but I'll take a look at what they've done that wasn't di...

Require Asian Animated Film advice

Hey guys :]. I'm doing an essay as part of one of my courses in Asian cinema, and I thought I ought to do it on an animated flick :]. Unfortunately, I'm not particularly knowledgeable in this area, and the only ones that come to my head are Akira and anything Miyazaki. Well, that, Paprika, and Steam...

The voice-acting DOES sound rather bored :[. I've got a feeling that that, more than anything, killed the show's chances :P.

The best part was that other girl's facial expressions and body language when she was going: "Did it bite you? Did it INFECT you?" :P That was quite endearing :P.

Christmas and Marvin the Martian can work, if they do it right. You guys remember that Pinky and the Brain episode where the Brain manages to hypnotise everyone in the world with those little dolls of himself? I was genuinely moved at the end, and (call me a big baby) I actually teared up a little :...

Re: Batman: The Brave and the Bold

On the other hand, some of us have read Batman comics that are more than 20 years old. For us, this is a return to the Batman we know! :) After all, this new TV series is named after a Batman team-up comic that ran for many years. Actually, it's "Sprang-y"! The designs are based closely on the draw...

Batman: The Brave and the Bold

Here's the trailer from the SDCC for those who may have missed it: http://www.superherohype.com/news/featuresnews.php?id=7527 I'm personally looking very forward to this. :) To me, Batman The Animated Series (BTAS) is THE definitive Batman cartoon. I consider 'The Batman' to be very lame by comparis...

The animation's looking VERY slick, indeed, and the background of New Orleans is simply gorgeous. My favourite thing in the teaser has to be Tiana's hopeful "how's that?" expression after she blows a kiss :P. I've got to admit though, the firefly really isn't doing it for me =/. I'll need to see mor...

I saw Blue Harvest, yeah. It was ok, but a lot of it just wasn't very funny. That said, there were some incredible laugh-out-loud moments. It certainly doesn't hold a candle to the Robot Chicken Star Wars special - that thing's in a league of its own. Anyways, do you guys know how Family Guy is actu...

Caught it a couple days ago :]. I must admit, I found it got a bit draggy at parts (off the top of my head, I can't think of any film versions of Dr Seuss books that don't suffer this problem), but that said, it was still great fun to watch :]. Vlad the vulture had the funniest scene in the entire m...
