Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
Typical Disney. Releasing some stuff I wanted a physical copy for, after the revelations that my country isn't worthy of physical releases.

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
Hopefully Spiderwick producers can convince someone else to air the completed series/season.

Re: The state and future of animation
I've seen Mirai and it deserved its nomination, And I will forever argue that Flee deserved to win the Oscar over Encanto. It should at least have won one of the awards it was nominated for. The problem is that while the Animation Branch chooses nominations based on the merits of the artform (and us...

Re: Disney ends all physical media in Austraia & Asia! (not japan)
When a company decides to make this decision, they need to also commit to not removing their IP from their streaming service that this decision benefits. As an Aussie this is disappointing news. I also feel for those people who live in the parts of Australia that have dodgy internet service and prob...

Re: Help finding Animated movies
As I was typing I was thinking gee this sounds like The Land Before Time but with humans haha. Definitely not Land Before Time. But as I said there is a part of me that thinks my brain is making this up and the tv show doesn't exist.

Re: Help finding Animated movies
Well since there is a thread for this type of query now, I am wondering if anybody can work out this animated movie/tv series i remembered watching as a child in the 80s. Pretty sure it was the 80s and not the 90s. I don't have a great amount of details but my fuzzy memory says it involves two sibli...

Re: Barbie live action film
I admit there were so many character posters I just zipped straight through them and paid no attention to any of them as it was information overload for my brain. Oops.

Re: Barbie live action film
By pausing on that long list of names at the end of the Ken clip (which I hope goers longer in the movie) why am I only just learning Helen Mirren is in the movie. Where have I been?

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
I never understood how "sing Along version' remained a selling point when DVDs came along with closed captioning options. I know it means there is a bouncing ball or the words get highlighted as they are sang but still if you want to sing along to a musical just turn on the captions.

Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread
One could argue that it's not totally suprising since the 4th of July was opening day for Sound of Freedom. It then tumbled 71.6% on the Wednesday compared to Indy's tumble of 52.7% which regained the top spot.

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
In that clip, they've removed the talking parts of the scene that are still in the song, so it does come across as sloppily edited. However, by switching Ariel's pondering of never seeing her father and sisters again to escaping being under Daddy's control, the movie turns Ariel choice of sacrificin...

Re: Disney's The Little Mermaid (Live-Action)
The songs from Menken have definitely suffered since the passing of Howard Ashman. That team was definitely a once in a lifetime pairing. The closest Menken has gotten to a lyricist that works well with his music is Stephen Schwartz (if we ignore Disenchanted). I often find the lyricists he has work...

Re: Nimona
Watched this last night and absolutely loved it. I would say it's the best animated film I've seen this year, but then remembered it's the only one I've seen this year haha. I'll admit I'm not usually a fan of the style of animation used in the movie - mostly because I ponder why don't they just do ...
