Just watched Prep & Landing . Personally, I think it may be the best animated Christmas special since the classic Rankin/Bass specials. There's only one thing I would have changed: I wish Prep & Landing had shown a distant shot of Timmy's neighborhood, in which we had seen dozens of elves working at...

You can now download the Up score for free at https://www.amplified.com/latimesdisney/page.aspx?B=1. At the page, type 'latimesdisney' to redeem this offer, which began yesterday and ends tonight. (I would have made this post sooner, but I just read about it at Ain't It Cool News.)

Reading the Annie Award nominations, I was very surprised to see The Princess and the Frog excluded from the directing and music categories.

Here is a new review of The Princess and the Frog , from The Envelope : Is Up , which is also mentioned on many pundits' lists of potential best picture nominees, a slam dunk to actually win in this category or could an Up -set be in the making? One place an Up beater could come from is Disney itsel...

Commercials in 2009

I thought it might be fun for folks to post their favorite commercials from 2009.

With that said, here are a few TV spots that I've enjoyed:

Just hoping someone can answer a trivial question. Does anybody know if the soundtrack to the movie is getting a physical release or am I going to be required to purchase it off iTunes? Thanks I've tried to find the same info, Bill. Even Amazon.com is just selling the digital form of the Christmas ...

That's very encouraging news, Sullivan! Regarding the film's songs, I've been trying to guess which ones will be nominated for an Oscar. Of course, the Academy can now only nominate two songs for the award. I've been guessing Disney would push "Dig a Little Deeper," "Down in New Orleans," and "Almos...

I don't understand why the Berenstain Bears and humans will coexist in the 'real world.' When I was a child, I loved the books partially because I was interested in the characters' unique world. Similar to what Ben said, I think this project sounds more like Country Bears than Berenstain Bears.

Thanks for posting that interview! I had no idea the film was originally explored as a computer-animated film by Pixar.

Walt Disney Records' page for the Princess and the Frog soundtrack offers samples of the film's songs . Meanwhile, Ne-Yo's "Never Knew I Needed" is now receiving radio airplay. It's such a beautiful song, I wish it were actually in the movie, performed as a traditional duet. As for the other songs, ...
