Re: Disney's Cruella (Live-Action)

Definitely looked at little wider on D+, but I’m good with that. It certainly didn’t look like it would be easily cropped, so I’m guessing they took the 1.85 and matted it a touch more for near two to one, to make it look like more of a "film" and not a "TV movie". :)

Re: Indiana Jones And The New Disney Movies Thread

...and therein lies the hope: Ford's incredibly excellent stuntie looks much younger than Ford does now, indicating that, yes, we will at least open with or feature a flashback sequence, or — please please please — the whole film is a prequel to Crystal Skull, as Temple Of Doom was to Raiders. This ...

Re: Pixar's Luca

Hmmm...a little disappointing for me, actually. After such different, magical whimsey, the parents clip sinks into the usual slappy-face, fast-talking, sub-Diz/Pix fare. Hopefully there’s not too much of it in the actual movie, but I was enjoying Luca being seemingly devoid of this sort of thing for...

Digital release June 25, with subs D+ late Jul/Aug, and then the disc (inc BD and 4K releases) on Sept 21. Specs: 4K includes Dolby Atmos, while regular Blu-ray features 7.1 DTS-HDMA. Extras include bloopers, two deleted scenes and featurettes: “The Two Emmas” — the lead actresses and how they prepa...

Re: Peter Rabbit 2 Trailer

The 90's "Only in theaters" was because the family-film market was so dominated by direct-to-video releases, it was unfortunately a real question parents asked. This is, as was covered the last time this came up, all wrong and not true. Theater/theatre...the Peter thing is lost on me. Everyone I’ve...

Re: Peter Rabbit 2 Trailer

Again, we’ve been here before with the "only on theatres' blurb that used to grace any family film trailer. Time was, as is again, that they *are* only in theatres...until the inevitable home vid and steaming release. And, no, I hadn’t heard there was a Thing about revealing the Cruella twist, but d...

Re: Disney's Cruella (Live-Action)

Well this was BONKERS! And almost nearly quite brilliant. Lots to take in, and it’s not always successful, especially on the soundtrack, which has some killer tracks but somehow doesn’t always quite connect with the visuals, but there is the occasional flash of greatness in here, possibly my favouri...

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+

Down in Oz, it’s a shame that it’s not the Ralph Fiennes Great Expectations, which is pretty awesome. This 1998 one I haven’t seen, but that’s a weird cast! And if you’ve never seen it, and just want to cackle yourself silly, go with Stuck On You, the Farrellys' current last hurrah. If you liked Mar...

Re: YouTube Goodness

What, the ones that keep playing every two minutes within something you’re trying to watch? I’ve never been a fan of the autoplay ones on the front of clips, or the popups, but at least you can skip them after five seconds or click them off, but, yes, the interruptions have been getting more and mor...
