All of these films were originally seen "hi-def" in theaters. At the risk of comparing apples and oranges, film itself is "hi-def". The idea that older movies weren't "meant" to be seen at higher resolutions strikes me as pretty silly. I get what you're saying, but these films were also meant to be...

Wow, I am glad to see people have strong opinions on this project. I think this is indicative of the place Pooh holds in people's childhoods. I, for one, loved the original movie (which were really three shorts put together) and the animated series. I know Disney considers Pooh to be one of their mo...

I don't think I'll be upgrading my copy either. I already got a 4 disc release a few years ago and don't see a reason to upgrade. With some of these older films, I just don't see a compelling reason to upgrade due to higher picture quality. They weren't mean to be seen in such detail, IMO. I had the...

Interesting take on the set Randall. After reading your two reviews, I've now decided I'll probably be sticking to the 1960s set. I'm just not that interested in these 1970s shows. It's interesting to me that the 60s shows proved to be more lasting and I remember watching more of those while growing...

droosan, I get what you are saying about Russell & Carl, but I disagree. I thought it was clear that Russell's father and mother got a divorce and that he has since got remarried. I think that if his father had been the building executive, it would have complicated and muddled the ending by adding a...

Great review Randall. I am looking forward to owning these. I agree with you on the nature of this set. I have wanted something like this for a while - ever since the Cartoon Crackup discs that used to be available. I just don't want to own all these shows in season sets. This is more fun this way. ...

Jake, I agree with your assessment that many critics blindly approve all things Pixar and declare their films perfect in every way. Reading some of the reviews gives me dejavu at this point since it's basically the same review with every new movie. I think that many of their films (Bug's Life, Cars)...
