Mary Poppins Biopic Planned?

Hey all, Apparently, there is talk of a film being made based on Walt Disney's 14 years of conversing w/PL Travers to get permission to adapt her "Mary Poppins" into a movie. Tom Hanks is said to play Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as P L Travers: http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/news/a375581/tom-han...

Re: Robert B Sherman, RIP

An article I read said that they put a white wreath on the window in Disneyland that was dedicated to the Sherman Brothers (a few years ago) in honor of Robert Sherman. I think it was Richard who said that they were the invisible celebrities. I think the only word to describe Robert Sherman's death ...

Re: Robert B Sherman, RIP

I agree that I wouldn't consider his death as tragic, but it was still sad nonetheless. Whenever someone beloved dies, there exists a feeling of sadness for most people, albeit lasting for different periods of time.

But you're right, he lived a long and productive life and we'll all remember him.

Re: Robert B Sherman, RIP

I, like Ben, have no words to express this loss. What the Sherman brothers did for Disney, for culture, for our generation was exceptional. The sad thing though is that according to the Sherman Brothers Story, he and his brother were a bit estranged. So, I hope they made up before this happened. Any...

Use of the word "cartoon" for animated deature films

Hey all, I just had a question. Does anyone else feel that using the word "cartoon" to denote a full-length feature animated film is a bit derogatory? I've always used the word "cartoon" to denote animated shorts or animated TV shows, but I just find it derogatory to use it to describe a full-length...

Re: Pixar announces next film for 2013

Thanks for the replies :) . However, I don't think anybody has realized the reason that I'm perplexed. What troubles me is their usage of the word "next". To me, it implies, that there will be no Pixar film released after "Cars 2" UNTIL November 2013. However, we do know that a "Brave" and a "Monste...

Pixar announces next film for 2013

It seems as if Pixar is releasing its next film till November 27, 2013: http://insidemovies.ew.com/2011/06/20/disney-pixar/ I wonder if this is just a delay of "Brave", since it was supposed to be released in 2012. And "Monsters University" was scheduled for June 2013. Does that mean that will be po...
